This is a beautifully presented and well made set. It includes ribbon and thin packing paper. It would be perfect for a gift. It is very good quality and you would be hard pressed to find anything this beautiful for this price. I carried out a lot of research before I bought this item, as I was spending a lot of money on "a game"! It includes everything you would need to play the traditional game including: wind counters, racks, tiles, dice, betting sticks, instructions and individual boxes in which to store the tiles. The tiles are a bit bigger than I was expecting, but I am used to playing with a very old set. I can't get past the back of the tiles being plain, though - I keep thinking they are all white dragons! Please note: the rack lengths and instructions rely on using 17 tiles in the wall, not 18. Upon investigation, I learned that this is where some players do not use the flowers and seasons. We do use them, so the racks are one tile short for our game. Not a show-stopper, but just a bit annoying when building and moving the walls. The racks are more than long enough for your 13 tiles. This is the second time I have purchased a "Jaques of London" game and both times the product has been amazing, and the wrapping "the icing on the cake"!

I bought this Jaques of London Mahjong set thinking I was getting a bit of old-school British craftsmanship. "Since 1795," the box says. I can only assume that refers to the last time they updated their quality control, because after exactly one month and a few days, the briefcase has decided to undergo a rapid, unplanned disassembly. Last night, the hinges literally gave up on life. The screws didn't just come loose; they staged a mass exodus. They won’t go back in because the "luxury" wood has the structural consistency of an over-dunked Rich Tea biscuit. It’s a Mahjong set, not a DIY puzzle. I expected to be playing a game of strategy, not spending my evening chasing tiny screws across the carpet like a desperate Victorian clockmaker. I know the "one-month warranty" has technically expired by a few minutes, but unless your business model relies on products that self-destruct like a Mission Impossible briefing the moment the clock strikes midnight, I’d suggest an exchange is in order. At £84.99, I wasn't expecting the Crown Jewels, but I did expect the bloody box to stay shut. Sort it out, Jaques. This is absolutely shambolic.

Really lovely, quality set, except white dragons are missing (or supposed "extra" white tiles are them). Unfortunately, the instructions were not good (I think they may not have been updated for a very long time as at one point there is a chart which includes pounds, shillings and pence)! I think this woud make a lovely gift for someone who already knows how to play. Meantime, I am trolling the internet to get a clue.

Les réglettes ont un angle droit, ce qui rend difficile la visibilité des tuiles. Du coup, personne veut les utiliser. Et la qualité des réglettes est mauvaise. On dirait qu'elles sont rafistolées. Le matériau utilisé se décolle. C'est dommage car le reste semble de bonne qualité. Le prix est attractif. Les tuiles sont jolies et de bonne taille. La mallette est très pratique. Je recommande tout de même le produit vu le prix mais il faut prévoir de racheter des réglettes.
