Review: A very good slow juicer and smoothie (or infant food) maker - The 180W Balzano Slow Juicer was a perfect one in my perspective for juicing vegetables and fruits at a slow rpm. It does not only make juice, it can also make smoothies or grind vegetables into a paste. What I got in the box and other details ? ================================= }-- The 180W slow juicer unit and its' polycarbonate BPA free transparent parts which were quite strong }-- 2 stainless steel filter attachments - for juicer and for ice-cream/smoothie }-- cleaning brush }-- The motor is a powerful 180W motor, much better than the 150W model. 5 years warranty. }-- There was 2 jars, 1L measured jar for collecting juice and another jar for collecting pulp }-- The length of the wire was 1m, could have been a bit longer. }-- The socket was Indian 2 pin but a strong one. }-- The base of the juicer had been rubberized for good grip }-- The feeding tube that is a bit narrow }-- The knob has function for on/off and reverse. The reverse can be used if i'ts stuck but till now it never happened for me. }-- The flowing tubes for juice and pulp has rubberized stopper so juice is less exposed to air to prevent oxidation and preserving nutrients. My Experience with juicing and making smoothie ======================================== }-- First I tried to do orange juice which does not really need big power. The juicer was good and the pulp was squeezed well. I did try to squeeze the pulp again to test how much juice might be extracted the second time but it was less. So the first squeeze itself did a good job. }-- Next I tried to make carrot juice which requires more power. Though instructions said vegetables or fruits should be cut into 2cm thickness, I just slit the carrot into 2 vertically and tried to make the juice and it did a very good job with the big pieces too. Got carrot juice well grinded and the juice was thick but not pulpy. }-- The pulp was well separated from the juice and both came out in the respective containers. The speeds of the spinner was 55rpm which is perfect. }-- Next I tried the ice-cream attachment filter which is actually a filter for making fruits and vegetables into a smoothie consistency. I tried mango and got it into a smooth paste, added some cream milk and yes was able to make an ice-cream. But even better it is helping us a lot with making vegetables and fruit paste from boiled vegetables that we were able to give our infant, so it was helping better in making baby food rather than ice-cream. My overall view ============= }-- Assembling: The assembling was very simple. But initially I did a mistake of attaching them without noticing the arrow marks and the unit didn't start and though it might be defective but called the customer support and got instructions on how to fix and then it started. }-- Cleaning: Though it said autocleaning, I wasn't impressed with the autocleaning as I need to use water atleast 3 times to completely clean the unit using autocleaning and the pulp that's stuck has to be anyway cleaned manually. I prefer to clean the unit manually as it was quicker and much cleaner. Since there was only 4 parts that needs to be removed manual cleaning was easier. }-- Noise: The noise was very less not sure in decibels but while running the slow juicer it never disturbed anyone and people in other room were not able to hear it. }-- Feeding: Whole fruits cannot be inserted and fruits and vegetables needs to be cut. I wouldn't want a whole apple or orange to be inserted for juicing without removal of seeds, so I was okay with the narrow feeding nozzle. I only wish the autocleaning was better. If water gets forcefully flushed through some means then auto-cleaning would have been better but for now auto-cleaning means just water circulating though the juicing parts and flushing them. And the instructions manual could have been better. There is too much pulp in the juice section and too much juice in the pulp section. But the brand market it as completely opposite. Sorbet maker is fine. But i wanted this primarily for juicing not sorbet. It's also loose while fitting, it's not very sturdy. Cleaning is cumbersome. I think you won't be satisfied with any of the cheap quality cold press juicer. Go for costly ones. 20k + price range would be fine. Also it took way too long for the refund to process. Very bad return experience on this one.
