Wholesome Pride Sweet Potato Chews All-Natural Single Ingredient Dog Treats, 32 oz

I was unsure about buying Wholesome Pride Sweet Potato Mini Bites Dog Treats for a couple of reasons. First, some reviews described their texture as crunchy, and second, Jazzy tends to swallow things whole if she can and i was afraid she'd do that with these pieces depending on how small they are. She is now 12 and was a rescue dog that had had no medical or dental care for 7 years and had dental disease. She was too afraid and anxious to allow me to brush her teeth so I began by giving her Teenie Greenies that were soaked in warm water until they became soft, then over months she was able to chew on Petite Greenies (the correct size for her weight - she's a Jack Russell) without soaking. I did also worry about the possibility of sharp edges but I liked that the only ingredient is sweet potato. I also know regular slices of dried sweet potato I gave to prior dogs was more hard/chewy than softer and thought this may be easier for her to handle. I was so surprised, she loves them and spent quite a bit of time chewing on the piece then looked for more. The pieces are small but large enough that I doubt she'll be able to swallow a piece without chewing. They do have sharp edges as other reviewers have noted but I always sit with a dog that is chewing on a treat to make sure nothing happens. As a suggestion, I have used a file to smooth out sharp edges on other treats I've given to other dogs. If she continues to gnaw on them they'll also help to keep her teeth clean. Jazzy loves baked sweet potatoes with a little cinnamon sprinkled on them so I'm glad there is a treat with the only ingredient is sweet potato! All in all, a good product but could be better if they were manufactured without sharp edges. Additionally, these treats have only one ingredient - sweet potato - and have no fillers, preservatives, etc. and are grown and manufactured in the U.S. so they are also safe for my parrots. The love them! The pieces are small enough for them to handle (a Timnah African and a Severe Macaw) and it keeps them busy for awhile as well as being a healthy part of their diet. They come running over when they see me coming with the bright orange bag!

I order these on a regular basis, but fine the quality irregular. This was the first moldy bag. The entire bag is moldy and the expiration date is next year. These cannot be returned, but I would like a refund.

my dogs love these. They come slightly soft and so im not worried about it being a choke hazard. Though if I dont finish the bag fast enough the treats do become quite hard

These treats are SO fresh that you can see the drippings from the potato glisten when it hardened! Then are also stuck together and very soft. My dogs LOVE them! Definitely recommend them. I give them to my dogs as a healthy treat every night!

I am usually very happy with the sweet potato chews. However, this last bag I received is sooo hard my dog can barely chew it. I have to soak it is warm water to soften it up before I can give it to her. Not satisfied at all. Sorry

Our dog is allergic to proteins but these don't seem to bother her at all; we only give her one a day, if that. I was hoping they would be soft so we could hide her pill inside it, but I was surprised to find out they are VERY hard! But that doesn't seem to bother her either. She's happy to get a treat and it takes her a while to chew it.

My dog loves these. They are small enough pieces to fit inside a puzzle toy to keep her busy. I like the li n item ingredients. I would buy them again.

I have 2 very small dogs so I cut them in half before I give them to my pups. I also let them dry out a bit before I give it to them so they have to chew a little bit harder🐶

The slices were all pieces. No one whole slice in the bag.

Happy with this purchase. The sweet potato chews are nice and chewy (not brittle and dry). My dog loves them. Thank you. :)

I can't really comment on the taste as I haven't tried them. The dog likes them though.
