hi i would like to know how deep is it?

I would guess, if filled to top = 2 ft. It is definitely not big enough for a family as the ad sez but just perfect for my 3 tiny granddaughters, 3,4 and 5 yrs.

where is the drain valve, if any, located?

On the bottom, near a corner, there's a pull out stopper. I drain mine with a length of hose though to direct water where I want it.

Does this pool have any odor when new? My hubby and I are sensitive to smells like perfume and vinyl/plastic.

Yep. Definitely smells like vinyl/plastic when it comes out of the box, but that seemed to go away after a few days.
