Review: Nice price and easy to use/install. - Easy to install based on my plumbing. I installed upside down on the cold water inlet to my tankless. Charged it to the incoming static water pressure (65psi). Turned the water on and now when I turn on my cold water in the kitchen in the morning, it is no longer warm. Two+ years later, I installed a 2 gal POU water heater for my whole-house humidifier since the humidifier wouldn't activate the whole house (a good thing). Noticed the cold water from the kitchen faucet getting warm again. Checked the expansion tank pressure and it was low so I recharged to 65 psi.

A: Yes, this for use with potable water.

**Q: Is this for a 50 gallon tank?**
A: If your water pressure is below 70 PSI, this tank will work. If it is 80 PSI, you will need the larger 4 gallon model.  Refer to this guide http://media.wattswater.com/pg-thermexpansion.pdf/.

**Q: Do i need this if my boiler has one and water heater is close by**
A: Heating boiler piping system is typically isolated from the water piping system for the rest of the house (such as by a pressure reducing or check valve to drop the house water pressure of ~ 60 psi to the typical less than 20 psi of the heating boiler side). Therefore the heating boiler expansion tank function would not effect the hot water boiler thermal expansion. Heating boiler thermal expansion tanks are typically factory charged to 12 psi while those for hot water tank are charged to 40 psi. ps I am not a professional so you may want to do more research of your own.

Easy to install based on my plumbing. I installed upside down on the cold water inlet to my tankless. Charged it to the incoming static water pressure (65psi). Turned the water on and now when I turn on my cold water in the kitchen in the morning, it is no longer warm.
