Saved me (& my patient's life)!
It's 7am and hour 12 of your shift. You're exhausted. You're so close to being done.. until that septic unresponsive 70 year old rolls in and it's all you. But you freeze. What IS the dose of etomidate??? Damn, that peds rotation really screwed me up, you think. Until you pull out your Code Pen. Etomidate 0.3mg/kg. DUH.I'm a second year EM resident. This was one of my shifts. I bought this pen on a whim. But, the truth is, regardless if you're an intern or third year resident, nurse or EMT, medical student or attending, an EM or psychiatry resident, this pen is extremely useful and convenient to have in your pocket -- you'll never know when you'll need it! Plus, the pen writes as smooth as butter. Best $10 I've spent on pens. Wish I would've thought of this idea myself! A MUST HAVE for anyone going into emergency medicine and any intern!

Very convenient! Has mono- and bi- phasic defib joules transposed.
I bought four of these: gave one away, broke one, and still have two that I love. The broken one still has a good pen, but my husband pulled the scroll out too hard and the tape inside tore. I couldn't find a way to get it back in. The information is extremely convenient but there is one error that most probably wouldn't notice. It says "Shocks-Defib: 120-200J Monophasic, 360J Biphasic." These should be the other way around. Hopefully there aren't any other errors I didn't catch.

Good pen, excellent resource for code situations!
As a radiology resident, I am frequently expected to respond to codes in the scanners (CT, MRI), whether they be cardiac arrests, MIs, etc. Being in a non-primary care specialty, I am not exposed to these situations as frequently as some other health care professionals, but it is imperative I know how to run the code if I am the first person at the scene. The Code Pen has been a quick and effective resource for me on my way to or even during codes. It serves as a safety net so I can remember how to properly dose medications and expand my differential diagnoses. It is a good resource for anybody expected to work quickly and accurately in these intense situations.

Great Pen but breaks easy
I love the pen and the quick access to some basic information for learners like me but the pen breaks very easy...Happy but not too happy with the purchase...

The info is there! The pen shortly turns into a shaft.
The information is extremely useful for constant review and as a Pt care tool. The build quality leaves much to be desired. Not street-durable. The cap on 5 of these pens broke within the first two weeks (kept in cargo and pants pockets). The paper is quick to rip. Plus it's not very easy to clean lol. I want a code pen version 2 please 🙏 Make it bomb proof!

Worth it for any resident
I've never written one of these before but i felt i had to for this. Definitely worth the purchase. I can't tell you how many times I've FROZEN during a code. It's so nice to just have something in my pocket that reminds me what I should be saying aloud. IF nothing else, get it for the vital signs chart. That alone is worth having as a reference when you walk into the room and can't remember if 120bpm is normal for a small child or not. Def Recommend.

Useful and easy
I am a Senior ED Resident and I stumbled on this pen while browsing, bought it out of curiosity. I wish I had this pen when I was an intern or medical student. This pen packs all of the "5 minute ED medicine" into 1 pen. Meds, dosage, formulas, and etc. It's useful, easy to use, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Low quality. Fell apart in months.
I barely used this pen, bought it some time ago and just started to carry it in my white coat pocket couple of months ago, and shortly after the entire pen mechanism came apart.Essentially, I paid $10 for two pieces of laminated papers. Waste of money.Neat idea, sadly low quality
