Hi-Tec Men's Altitude Vi I Waterproof High Rise Hiking Boots

For the price I was expecting a pretty poor quality boot, functional and average, I was suitably impressed. Very good stitching, excellent tread and fairly supple and good waterproofing. Time will tell for the longevity but, having owned lots of boots from all ends of the scale I'd put these alongside some of the £100 plus ones ive owned, probably not a pair I'd use every day on the trails but they feel good enough to take a fair punishment which is about what I need

Having had a pair of Hi-Tec walking boots for the last few years and having gone up hills, downs and mountains in them, when it came time for replacement there really would be only one brand to go to and that's Hi-Tec.Made of good quality materials throughout and designed by people who clearly know a great deal about how the foot, ankle and legs work, these boots offer supreme comfort, support and grip.The grip in particular is very good and a noticeable improvement on my already good, previous pair of Hi-Tec boots. I used them for the first time out on the local hills and forests and even in wet, muddy and slippery conditions, I could feel the confident grip from the sole and never slipped or lost traction on the slopes.I'd recommend these boots to anyone that likes to get out into the countryside. Great for weekend walks as well as for those that have some more serious Fell walking or longer trekking in mind.

Quality boots, I wear them mainly for walking the dog. They cope well on most terrains and the soles, made by Michelin tyres are excellent on wet leaves and mud. Very happy with them so far.

I bought these boots to replace my canvass Trespass ones that had started falling apart after only a year of use (it's not like I'm a hiking nut either, I only wear boots to walk my dog when it's wet or if we go out into the countryside). It's too early to tell whether these will last any longer, but I bought leather this time in the hope they will last a long time if treated well, and they appear well-constructed.After reading the reviews I must admit I had a couple of concerns. Firstly, would they fit OK? I've always had particularly wide feet, so when I ordered my usual size ten I was worried they might be too tight and I'd have to go through the rigmarole of returning them. Turns out I was worried about nothing. They fit almost perfectly. If I had a slight criticism I'd say they are a little snug at the sides, but even with my fat feet they are far from uncomfortable, and with time the leather will break in anyway.My second concern was how they would look. They looked nice in the pictures, but when you order clothes online you can never really be sure until they arrive. (Coupled with the fact that I associate Hi-Tec with naff 90's trainers, I was concerned). Again, though, I was worried about nothing. They look pretty smart.Overall then, I'm really pleased with them, especially for the price. All I need to do is keep my fingers crossed they last a long time.UPDATE: I have had the boots for 3 months and the "leather" has started to crack and peel on the toes. The long and short of it is that the boots are no longer waterproof. I've tried treating them with dubbin but this has had no effect, I still have wet toes just from walking on grass. I've knocked two stars off from my original review for the poor quality.Amazon returns are really easy to use within 30 days, but I've had to work to find a way to return the boots as faulty after 3 months. In fairness to Amazon though, a replacement was easily sorted out once I found out how to contact them.UPDATE 2: I've now had a second pair for three months and I'm having the same problem as before. Honesty, don't bother. The synthetic leather is cracking and peeling and isn't really up to the task at all. I'm going to cut my losses and invest in a decent pair of boots to last me through the winter. Lesson learned - don't try to scrimp on boots.

Very comfortable walking boots and very good foot support

This was 4th pair of Hi-Tec boots I've had and until now always been satisfied. Previous pairs were all UK size 9 and fitted perfectly with a pair of woollen socks over sports socks. This pair also UK 9 was a very tight fit with no socks at all. Almost like manufacturer thinks the modern trend for not wearing socks with shoes also applies to walking boots 😀. Suffice to say will be returning and ordering a size 10.

Very nice shoes and they seem to be of great quality and are comfortable.However a bit too short in length for my feet so had to return them.Note, if you are from EU and the shoe is sold in UK, do check if returns are paid for as this was a very costly issue for me. In the end I have paid about €22,- just to see if these would fit.....

I was happy with the Product however the delivery service was very poor. The delivery person did not deliver it to me personally but left the package on the stairs of our apartment block.
