*please excuse my face* This is the second review I have done on this product after stupidly buying (I cannot spell this- which will become apparent) a swarzcopf hair curling kit which absolutely RUINED my hair. I should of known better. I HATE that brand and have for years, but anyway. THIS is Smokey grey. It is LUSH. Much better than the lighter grey and leaves the hair totally conditioned to the max. The last time I used this product (the previous review I've referred too) my hair was in GORGEOUS condition and shone so much. It was more metallic dark ISH silver than Smokey grey but as I said I ruined it myself SO this is application two after swarzcopf turned my hair GINGER and made most of it break and stick in my hair brush and it's gone way better than I expected. I would recommend all day long. The colour is gorgeous. The application so easy. The amount is VERY generous (even though I pile it on I still end up with 15/20% of dye left over). It comes with gloves that fit instead of big oversized good for nothing femidoms. AND it comes with a TUBE of conditioner that although says will do 3 washes, I actually got 5 out of my last one and it smells flipping delicious. It's that good that if you're not happy, never mind L,Oreal , I will give you a refund myself (lol joke) . But seriously, BUY THIS. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My hair was already bleached and my original grey dye had washed out so this application was over the top of that. It stuck really well and came out slightly darker but that was because of my previous grey dye underneath. Pleased at how well it came out though. Easy to apply and doesn’t have a super strong scent like some box dyes. I’d definitely recommend only if you’re a natural bright blonde or have bleached your hair well into blonde/platinum. If your bleached hair is brassy this WILL NOT STICK. My roots are brassy and the dye didn’t stick to those parts. It also says on the side of the box it’s not suitable for those tones. So don’t even bother. Great product if you have the right hair and I do recommend and I will be purchasing again.

I read other reviews about this colour, some saying it was patchy etc. You really need to bleach your hair so it's very pale. I bleached once and got the result shown in the pictures & it wasn't as light as it needed to be. So after a 2nd lightener my hair was about the same colour as shown on the box (3rd swatch on the box). I didnt use the aplicator to apply the dye, I used a brush, I feel you get better coverage. I have fairly short hair, any longer I'd reccomend 2 or more boxes to get an even result. After I finished applying I left it to process for 25 minutes. The colour does have a lovely shine to it but I'm hoping it fades a little with washing as it's a bit darker than I expected, but I'm happy with the results.

So I used the smokey grey and silver grey on my bleach blonde hair. I had really dark regrowth and some orange and brassy patches in the blonde, so thought this would definitely cover it all and would just blend in with my dark roots... It DID cover the orange and brassy tones, but also turned my roots ORANGE! Not exactly the look I was going for! The dye smells really strong and was actually burning my eyes; and the consistency was like water, which made heck of a mess! But the conditioner smells lovely to be fair, although my hair has been left super dry and feral looking! Overall the colour is nice, and at a fiver you can't fault it too much, but worth noting it lightens your roots because I'll have to buy something else now just to cover them!

Wow, wow and more wow... this colour is lovely and the product is great all round. I had naturally dark brown hair but when it started to go grey I started using home dye kits (never being able to afford the time or money to go to a salon when my hair grows so quickly - I'd have been there ever 4 weeks!) but all the permanent dyes left my hair with a red/orange tinge. When lockdown came I thought it was time to let it go grey and although I had a fair amount of root growth, the rest was a nasty straw colour. This is lovely dye but if you're unsure, experiment a bit. The first time I put it on in front of a mirrror and I could see how dark it went within just a few minutes (almost immediately) so I washed it out quickly. I was so happy with the results though but I have no idea what would have happened if I'd left it for the full time - I wasn't brave enough to try. So although this suggests to use it on previously bleached/light coloured hair, it works for me too and I love it. It's not expensive so if you're worried about the effects, see what's happening in the mirror and make a judgement call - you can always keep it on for longer the next time? It leaves your hair super shiny too - love it! So hope they continue to make this colour even if grey stops being fashionable.

Pleased with my purchase, delivered promptly and as seller described. I didnt get maximum effect from my purchase - as much as I have a lot of grey hair I also have a lot of dark hair, so I really needed to lighten my hair allover prior to applying this product so I didnt acheive the effect I was looking for - Not the fault of the product but mine.

Absolute rubbish, I have dark brown hair so I bought the L'Oréal Colovista Bleach as a starting point as recommended and the smoky grey I wanted. On use the bleach turned my hair a lovely shade of yellow and then the grey turned my hair back to around 2 shades lighter than my dark brown. So after over an hour and 2 colours I ended up more or less where I started; no hint of the smoky grey I wanted. I will leave colours to my hairdressers instead these products are cheaper for a reason

Would definitely use again.
