VIZIO SB36312 36" 3.1.2 Premium Home Theater Sound System with Dolby Atmos®

I have bought a good bit of sound bars I review alot of electronics like expensive Oled Top of the line Qled 4k HDR tvs and Dolby Atmos soundbars. This sound bar is worth the money it's really loud and the Sub really kicks u can feel the bass in our chest from 30 to 40 get away its good for a medium sized living room or bed room u will piss off ur neighbors if u live in a apartment

Not sure what all the firmware complaints are, I have had zero issues, but then again I'm a computer scientist, not a software engineer like the other reviewer with all the issues. It did run an update, so perhaps they have fixed the issues, which is a quick turn around by Vizio fixing bugs on a new product. Plug and play with the only setup really required related to configuring it for wifi connection. Having come from a large 5.1 JBL surround system, I am more than happy with this setup. Actually pretty surprised how it stands up against the large floor standing speakers. Excellent sound quality, even if lacking very slightly in mid range. Crisp sound with music streaming via cast, even at high volume. Great product. I highly recommend. Update: 5 stars to 2. This thing has issues. Serious voice lag over arc which I worked around with an hdmi switch, but as of today no sound at all. First hdmi passthrough died, then ARC only connected if the hdmi in port was vacant. Now no sound over ARC. Bar turns on with tv, and the volume lights correspond to the changes on tv display, but zero sound. See what support does.... Turns out it is my vizio 4k tv had an arc failure. Soundbar has no issues on an older Samsung with ARC. So its the tv that didnt last 6 months......either way I might avoid this brand in the future.

This is especially true, if you’re still using those tinny speakers built into your tv! This soundbar is great for both tv audio, and streaming music over Bluetooth! The connection via HDMI arc was a breeze. The soundbar and wireless sub picked up the tv audio within seconds. EQ adjustments are easy with the Vizio SmartCast app. Using upward firing speakers, this soundbar fills the whole room with sound from whatever source you’re sending to it! This is a great product, and I highly recommend it!

Tried to buy this first directly from VIZIO, to have my order cancelled without notification. After 30 minutes with this soundbar I get it - it's a lousy company making bargain-basement products, so customer service should not be expected. Connected with some difficulty but got it working... and then attempted to hook up a 4K bluray player, and it suddenly wouldn't connect to anything, then said it was connected but no sound. A few minutes of rebooting and fiddling with menus (on a confusing remote), still no sound... I now understand the poor reviews I've seen, so back it goes. You get what you pay for, save money for a reputable ATMOS system from a more reputable company. Dolby should not be licensing to cheap, low-quality brands like this. And don't even get me started on the VIZIO app... had difficulty finding wifi the phone was already connected to, dropped it constantly, took forever to do anything, and never got a working connection to the soundbar. This was my first experience with the brand, it will also be my last.

This soundbar is perfect for a small living room or a one bedroom apartment, its very powerful for a small subwoofer, the atmos sounds great especially with upward firing speakers. It's very easy to set up, only thing that was a bit confusing was using the app. overall it's a great product especially at the sale price at 250.

Pros: sounds decent for the price. Far better than my TV’s built-in speakers, but it’s not going to blow your mind or anything. You can also crank up the sound of dialogue while dialing everything else back (turn up “Center”). The subwoofer has to be turned waaaaaay down (-7 or more) to keep it from shaking our tiny place. That said, it’s a decent subwoofer, and we turn it off when it’s getting late and the sound bar sounds fine without it. Cons: it just shuts off sometimes. Since I have an Apple TV hooked into the HDMI in and the TV hooked to the ARC, that tends to interrupt whatever we’re watching because it’s no longer passing anything to the TV. I don’t know if it’s a common issue, but it’s annoying af. The remote is also terrible, it doesn’t work for some things and the tiny little display has no backlight. Either give me a bigger display or more buttons. I don’t even try to use the remote, I use the SmartCast app which recently saw some minor improvements but isn’t that great either. Verdict: okay for the price. Next time, I might try a different brand, but my TV is a Vizio and I thought they might work well together. Seems like it doesn’t really matter.

The sound is awesome. It's clear and rich, and the Atmos surround works great. However, I have this soundbar connected to my TV via HDMI-ARC and at least once a week, I have to disconnect the soundbar power cord (to reset it) because it loses communication with the TV and the TV defaults to its own internal speakers. Not the end of the world, but annoying, and less than I would expect from a decent home theater system these days.

Sound is very good for the price. Surprisingly good bass with the small subwoofer for loud action movies, and even at the low levels I often listen to at night. I lay it flat on the carpet about 8 feet in front of me. Good sound immersion for small soundbar.
