THERMOSFuntainer 10 Ounce Food Jar, Avengers

After checking the reviews for a thermos container for my daughter's lunch box, I chose this one based on the reviews. I have not been disappointed so far after about 2 weeks of constant use. The first few times, I put boiling water in to heat it up, left it in there for 10-15 mins, over heated her lunch, then put it in the thermos. At lunch time, it was too hot for her to eat =( She gets on the bus at 0650 AM and lunch is sometime after 11. So, I still boil the water to heat it up initially, but just warm up the meal I'm putting in it and it's been perfect for her, not cool or cold, but she tells me it's just right for her to eat. Although it says it's safe for the dishwasher, I normally wash it by hand, tossing the top in the dishwasher to try to remove the pasta sauce. Once in awhile we'll throw the whole thing in the dishwasher with no problem. And, it's perfect sized for my 7 yr old to take to school. All around a good product at a good price. I'm thankful I did my homework and checked ratings and bought this thermos. The added plus is that it is easy for my daughter to open by herself without requiring help from the lunch staff to open it.

This container is the perfect size to send hot lunches to school for my 5 and 3 year old sons. These containers along with the matching drink thermos fits easily in their lunch kits (with a few other items). The food stays hot until lunch time and the boys are able to open the jars on their own with little difficulty. Of course, they also love the characters on the front! I've been using these jars now for 2 months and durability seems great.

Hot & Cold-holding ability:The first order of this Jar came with a huge dent on the side. It was really easy getting it replaced with a good one. I've used it for hot food so far and it's held the heat pretty well. I will be trying cold next and give an update.Easy to clean with the right tools:The Jar top comes with a small ring rubber that keeps the lid closed tightly. That can be removed to wash.I will recommend getting a small brush specifically for cleaning cups. I've seen several sold on amazon. There is a small space where the actual cup/jar portion fits and it's too thin for regular sponges when cleaning. Especially if you were to use this container for porridge or something a bit more gooey.Design:The design looks exactly like the photo and my daughter loves it so far.

My 5 year old daughter absolutely loves this food jar, it keeps her food (not just soup but also solid foods) warm for a long time! I leave for work early morning (6:30am) and I have to drop off my children at before-school extended care that early. This food jar has been a big plus because my daughter always finds her food warm and nothing spills out/etc. I was worried that the container might be too difficult to open for her (because when inside food cools down, it would make the lid tighter due to reduction in cooler air volume) but nope- my daughter is able to easily open it. I'd recommended it for kids as young as 3 years old.

We have this Hello Kitty and another one. My kids have used these thermoses for hot lunches for over 5 years, so I'd have to say we're pretty darn happy with it. My kids have used them since they were 4 or 5, so opening them is usually not an issue. There have been some instances where a slight vacuum seal was created, but most school lunchrooms have lunch monitors who can help. I preheat the thermoses with hot water while I prepare the hot lunches. My kids are picky. They don't want just a warm lunch; they want HOT lunch. So now I super heat (i.e. Don't just heat food to the point that it's hot enough to eat at the moment. Heat it until it's piping hot, that you'd burn your tongue if you tried to eat the meal at the point.) the lunch to help it stay hotter longer. Since it's only 10 oz, it's perfect for small stomachs or snacks. We've put rice with leftovers, raviolis and spaghetti sauce, pizza, soups, and whatever else. Never had a spill if cap is screwed on correctly. Our Funtainers are over 5 y.o., so they've been handled roughly and dropped a few times through the years. They've survived well. The rubber on the bottom of our Hello Kitty thermos has now loosen and spins around the base, so that if you hold only the bottom rubber while trying to unscrew the cap, the thermos will spin but not open. Works fine if you hold onto body of thermos to unscrew cap. My only gripe with the thermoses is washing the caps. Trying to wash that groove in the cap with dried out spaghetti sauce stuck in it is a pain. Only a very thin wire cleaner will fit in there, and even then you can't guarantee that you've clean it thoroughly. I wish they'd re-engineer the cap so that there's no groove, like the Thermos King food jar. We also have the 14 oz Thermos King now that one of my kids is older and thus have a larger tummy. I just wish the mouth on the Thermos King was as wide as these Funtainers.

Lovely design and fantastic Thermos quality. Lid is easy to open for little hands (I have an 8 year old and 5 year old who use it). I place boiling water in the container for 10 mins and tip it out. I then put the hot lunch in (usually left overs) and my daughters rave about their super warm meal at lunch time. It's not boiling but hot enough to be enjoyable. Great price and great quality. Super easy to clean. Very happy!

They shipped me the wrong color, it was hot pink instead. Luckily my daughter wasn’t too picky and liked the pink so I didn’t have to exchange it. Keeps the food warm from 7am when I prepare her food until her lunch time at around 1130am. She says her food is still warm.Make sure to remove the rubber to clean or mold will build up.

Bought this over a year ago and it still works great. No issues with the seal, and I haven’t had any issues with mold on the lid like others have mentioned. I hand wash it and always remove the seal, I also use a straw cleaner to get into the hard to reach places and air dry. I pack my daughter’s lunch at 8:00am and the food is still warm at 12:30 when they head out for lunch. The jar instructions recommend preheating with hot water before storing food and I think that definitely helps it stay warm longer.

Always a fan of Thermos. When I saw the Hello Kitty one on sale, I quickly snatched it. The size is great for toddlers, I wouldn't recommend this size for bigger eater though as it doesn't hold much. I accidentally dropped it and the rubber on the side was quickly scratched, therefore, prepare for any dents and scratches. But overall, I would still buy it again if it's on sale.

It works as intended. Must be hand washed or the graphics will wear out quickly in the dishwasher.
