The best earplugs I have found……….
I am extremely satisfied with the LiveMusic Hearsafe Ear Plugs. Being older and have experienced hearing loss, it is extremely important for me to wear hearing protection when I am around loud sounds. I have worn hearing protection for the last 20 years and have tried many different ear plugs. The LiveMusic plugs have allowed me to block out the loud background noise and bring down the sound I want to hear down to a safe level. They are the most comfortable plugs I have worn. I did read the reviews before making my purchase and I totally agree with all the positive comments: excellent all round quality, comfortable with a perfect fit. I definitely recommend these to others. Note: I read where others were having problems with the metal case and the short stems of the plugs. I have found the case to be perfect for the plugs. I only place two plugs in the case, one in the main body and the other in the cap and then gently screw the cap on. When removing, I take the one out of the cap and the other will fall out with a couple shakes. I have no problems whatsoever. The case is a very convenient size. As for the stems on the plugs, I did notice when I first started using the plugs and attempted to remove them (I don’t use the tether) it was difficult to grip the stems. What I did was remove the tether from each of the silicone gripper cups and then placed the cups on the end of the stems. This made the stem so it extends for easy removal from the ear – problem solved and it works great. I do tend to push the ear plugs as deep as they will go.

Definitely worth the money and work great 👍
I am a professional musician and my hearing is very important to me. I purchased these to use not only for concerts but when I drop by my friends recording studio. He has a tendency to run his main monitors really loud. This way he can maintain what’s comfortable for him and allows me to be comfortable sitting inside that room, listening. They come with a really cool water proof / dust proof key chain container. Plus a lanyard when you’re using them so that you can take them out of your ears not and lose them. They’ll just hang there around your neck. Extremely lightweight. Perfect for hearing conversation when music ends. They are also nice looking.

Great earplugs for most cases, still did not protect against damaging noise at loudest events
I bought these earplugs for my wife, daughter, and self to wear to Lollapalooza this year. We had platinum passes which meant that we were able to watch each act at the very front right of all the main stages. It also meant that we spent four days straight standing in front of speaker stacks over 3 stories tall intended to blast music loud enough to reach a crowd of 100,000 people. For the most part these earplugs worked great. The music was clear and did not sound muffled, and I was still able to have conversations with the people next to me without screaming (unless we were just screaming to be heard over the music). After the first two days, I was really impressed with how well they preserved my hearing and that there was no ringing in my ears at the end of the day. However, on the third day we saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which in my opinion is one of the loudest bands I've ever seen live, and it felt like the earplugs were not sufficient to block out all the damaging noise levels. That night in our quiet room, my wife and I both commented that while our ears weren't ringing, they felt like they were "throbbing". To be honest, though, I don't know if any earplug other than the full foam type would have been sufficient to protect against the level of noise we were exposed to. Overall, I really do like these earplugs, and the carrying case they come in is great.

These are very impressive for motorcycle use!!!
First time doing a true review. This product merits it! I ride a '02 Shadow 750 Spirit with stock pipes. I don't care for loud pipes and constant wind noise. Silly I know that I ride but it's what I love to do. I found these plugs and let me tell you they are the real deal! All crap noise is muted to very tolerable. I wear a Sena Outrush R helmet with Bluetooth enhanced talk and audio. I can hear anything from audio books, pod cast, music and especially surprising enough phone calls crystal clear with these plugs in and not at full volume hammered down in the left lane possibly pushing the needle a little farther over the suggested speed limit. I cannot reccomend these earplugs enough. Trust me, when you are used to wearing these and forget to put them in the diffrence is astounding! A word of advice tho, they can easily be inserted in too far and it quickly is uncomfortable and sometimes can get painful. Make sure you have tweezers or a friend handy in case the handy lanyard disconnects from the plug and you cannot get a finger hold on it and panic starts to set in. ( i ended up superglueing my plugs to the lanyard attachment and now they stay tied to the inside back of my helmet and I always have them without fear of thinking where are my dang Earplugs. Clean up is quick and easy with alcohol and a qtip. An additional lanyard would be awesome since you get 2 sets of plugs in the handy canister. I have already purchased a back up pair. It is now coming upon a year of use of the original first pair experienceimg no signs of wear. Now that I have my system worked out I think these are above and beyond awesome. I have refered these to neumerous folks for diffrent uses. But motorcycle riders do love them. I will for sure repurchase in the future if need be.

Inexpensive, good quality hearing protection for live music events. Daily carry so always prepared.
I have been using these for 10+ years and have purchased them several times to replace lost ones and bought or recommended them for multiple friends/family members/strangers at shows. I have always enjoyed live music events. I have not always had the wisdom of old age. Standing in front of the speaker columns of The Who, The Grateful Dead and many other shows has had it's long term consequences... I have now kept this nice quality metal vial attached to my keys for easily 10+ years. I can listen to live music any time and if the sound system is too loud or distorted, I can have these protectors out of my pocket and in my ears in seconds. The music still sounds great and conversation is still perfectly audible, But the sharp and damaging transients are mitigated. I particularly dislike it when someone insists on talking or shouting in my ear while I am trying to enjoy music. These protectors have been a constant source of enjoyment. Highly recommended. Rock ON!

The 29 dB plugs are probably the best pair of mass-produced earplugs
I had a pair of ETY-ER20 ear plugs that just were not cutting it for me (only 12dB NRR) and my 100-Watt tube amp, my ears were hurting with my amp's master volume turned up to about a 4 or 5. I looked around a bit and saw these came with two sets, 23 dB NRR and 29 dB NRR, much, much higher than Etymotic Research's plugs. I bought these solely for the 29 dB pair. Using the 29 dB pair, I've had no issues with my amp's master volume turned up to as high as 7 (I haven't turned it up any higher due to the cabinet I'm running it through). They're very comfortable too, I have the standard size and have worn mine for nearly 7 hours straight with no issues. At the end of the 7 hours, they were still comfortable, and my ears weren't hurting from noise. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to hear people talking with these because the NRR rating was so high, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I've actually had little difficulty hearing people talking. It was actually easier to hear people with the plugs in at a show and practice than without them! I gave my girlfriend the 23 dB plugs for the show I just played last weekend and the noise only started bothering her around the 6th hour. I figured she didn't need as high attenuation when she'd have bodies in the crowd dampening the sound instead of standing right in front of the amps. They served her pretty well, but I'll probably be looking into getting her a pair of the 29s if we go to another show that is likely to last as long. I highly recommend the 29 dB pair, if there is a better pair of mass-produced ear plugs, I haven't found them. The 23 dB pair seems like it's also pretty great (and definitely still better than ETY-ER20s), but you should definitely stick to the 29s if you're going to be in a loud space for extended periods of time.

Review of HearSafe Ear plugs
Earlier this week I saw Black Sabbath, one of my all time favorite bands in concert. As you can imagine these guys play REALLY loud so prior to the concert I researched hearing protection to protect both my wife's hearing and my hearing. After looking at the specifications for several ear plugs I decided to buy two pairs of the LiveMusic Hearsafe ear plugs. The first test was to put on the earplugs and blast my car stereo as loud as I could take it. Using an iPhone sound app I measured the sound level at 95-100 dB with the car windows closed. When we both put on the white earplugs the sound was clearly being attenuated and we could actually talk to each other wearing the earplugs with the radio being this loud. So far so good.... Now the day of the concert.... as we entered the arena we put on the HearSafe plugs. I actually started with the green earplugs (less protection than the white plugs) and my wife used the white earplugs. Then Black Sabbath comes on the stage. These guys were SO loud that I could clearly feel the bass in my body. My iPhone app measured sound levels exceeding 100 dB! Part of the way through the concert I switched out the green ear plugs with the white plugs since I felt the music was too loud and all was good. BTW....a great show if you are a Sabbath Fan! The bottom line....the HearSafe Ear plugs work and will protect your hearing. Both my wife and I had NO ringing in our ears after the concert. Mission accomplished. This is why I give it a five star rating. One suggestion to the manufacturer. Can you make a package that include all four ear plugs (as listed on the back of package)? The one being sold through Amazon offers the green and white ear plugs. I would have like to try the red ear plugs as well. Otherwise it is a well made product that works as advertised!

At the end of the day, the large fit rules....
UPDATE: July 19, 2016 These plugs still work and "fit" great. I do wish the cord holding them together was not string and something more substantial though, but no biggie. Last night I wore these to a wicked KISS rock concert with lots of LOUD fireworks. As you can see from the pics were sitting preety close to the speakers, so these things WORK!!! I was able to hear the entire band just fine. It was like someone turned down the volume to the arena. A bass drum "boom boom boom" did seep thru the plugs though. Especially a double bass like last night. As far as the screaching guitars, especially the guitar solo's?...these plugs removed ALL the piercing highs. Really, I can't be happier with these plugs. Well, like I said, I could if the string holding the plugs together was stronger than a thin string. Oh, 2 guys last night asked me, "Where did you get your plugs man?" I was happy to tell them where I got them and the brand. P.S. Not a stitch of ringing in my ears in the morning. If you are reading this review, just stop reading, and buy these plugs. You won't be sorry. ____________________ Original review 6.27.16: As a drummer, the sounds within a few feet of my ears vary from soft to very loud. I have one crash that if I hit it wrong, it will be LOUD. Even if I hit this crash with a partial hit, my ears would ring for quite some time (minus having plugs inserted). As I tend to lose ear plugs, which I did a few weeks back, this time I wanted better plugs to protect my hearing better as I get older. I’m a relatively thin guy, 5’ 11”…so I figured the standard size was the way go. But the standards hurt. As far as reducing the sound, they did, but not a much as I was hoping. They didn't filter out much of the highs (from cymbals, guitars) and a loud bass guitar seemed bothersome. So I figured, the fit was bad or the plugs were bad. I assumed I didn’t insert them deep enough, so I twisted them in even further in. But I was petrified that I would not be able to get these guys out being so deep and not having a stem to pull them out (I didn’t use the included cord (at first). No help going deeper. Not at all comfortable. So I sent an email to Live Mus!cs customer service. A very polite and professional gentlemen named Roscoe offered to send me a pair of the large sizes on his dime, but I told him before we went down that road, I wanted to try them again at this weeks practice. I did and surprisingly they felt much better, so I thought I found the “ones.” I sent Roscoe an email saying I was good, and asked I could buy another cord for the second pair to use for a quicker swap out between songs (since I use both levels of protection depending on the volume of the songs). Roscoe said he couldn’t sell me “just” a cord so he gave me a 50% code to buy another complete set. Nice! So I tried the standard fit at practice a few nights later, and they hurt. But I didn't feel ok asking the company to send out a pair of the larger sizes on their dime. Morally, it just didn't seem right. So I ordered a LARGE set (with the 50% code). The large set arrived last week. I inserted them and they sure felt comfortable. Snare and hi tom hits sound great. I hit my loud crash and it was like someone turned down the volume. The cymbal sound, obviously, was still there, but not the ear piercing sound sitting a few feet from it. I could carry on a conversation just fine. The bass player 's sound no longer bothered me. But here’s the deal maker, my ears didn’t hurt! Look at the two pictures. The difference between the standard and the large is minimal. But that small difference meant the world to me. In the horizontal shot you see a slight difference. Standard on the left, large on the right. Same with the vertical…standard on the left, large on the right. When I remove the large fit (by twisting out, not pulling out! very important!), my ears feel just fine. When I remove the standards my ears hurt for some time. The sound filtering with the standards is just ok. The sound filtering with the larges is EXCELLENT! Of course, because of the better fit. Lastly, in our day and age, it’s all about making the sale, rarely about customer service. Well, Live Mus!c is all about customer service. For this reason, they have me for life. Seriously. I will never, not EVER, look at another company's ear plugs simply because of Roscoe. He was wicked responsive to me (within hours of my sending the email). He even answered one email on a Sunday. Who does that?? And he could not have been more helpful. This company could not ask for a better ambassador for their brand. If you need the best possible ear protection, firstly, this is the company to go with, and secondly, I HIGHLY recommend you start with the large, not the standard ~ Doug
