Review: Punky platinum - There’s a lot of reviews saying the platinum toner doesn’t work. To be fair, not every product of every brand is going to always work for someone. Ion toners do not work whatsoever in my hair. I loved the platinum toner from Blond Brilliance. I used it by itself, and with Wella toners T18, T14, and 12A, as well as Alien Gray by Manic Panic. I can’t find that toner at all, and have been frustrated trying to find a replacement. The Punky Colour platinum toner, works! I did attach pictures to show going from a light brown with purple, to the platinum. I lightened my hair, then toned it using Wella T18, then put the Punky platinum on, because there is a specific shade I am trying to get to. The lighting in this house is awful, but hopefully you get the idea.
Review: Not a toner? Great conditioner. - Nice conditioning treatment on my freshly bleached hair, however no progress reducing my warm tones. In fact, I'm pretty sure my hair became brassier. Bleached my hair twice with L'oreal quick blue bleach and 20 volume developer to reach my desired lift, from medium brown to a dusty pale yellow. The second bleaching was a bleach bath with one ounce of shampoo and the regular proportions of developer and bleach defined on the packet. My hair had been saturated with coconut oil, and I rinsed it out with warm water before bleaching it, knowing that the toner calls for clean dry hair. After the bleaching was complete I rinsed my hair with lukewarm water to remove the bleach and any remaining oils and then waited for my hair to dry. When my hair was completely dry, I applied the colour creme in it's pure form, with my dye brush and gently combed it through after saturating my hair with the product. After fifteen minutes there was no progress, so I covered my hair with plastic. At thirty minutes I checked a strand and it seemed to have neutralized the yellow a small amount. I decided to leave it on for an hour, and at the hour mark my scalp was getting irritated so I washed it off. My hair was marvelously silky, but the dusty pale yellow reminiscent of a European child on the beach in summertime had darkened to a dirty copper blond after it had dried. I have the mixture of three parts lemon juice and one part conditioner in my hair in hopes of removing the bronze that this toner apparently deposited. Leave the mixture in for an hour, blow dry, then shampoo and condition as usual.

**Q: What conditioner do i need to mix with this hair dye ?**
A: I mix with any white paraben free sulfate free conditioner. I mix 1:1 and there is no change in the vibrancy & boldness of the color or how long the color lasts. I was worried it would lighten the color but it doesn't on a 1:1 mix. I also don't bleach the medium brown hair my daughter's have prior to dying it and the colors are amazing. We've used flamingo pink, red rose, plum, purple, blue, aqua & green. All have turned out far better than I imagined and lasted way longer than I imagined they would.

**Q: How long does it last, days wise?**
A: It depends on the color and how often you wash your hair.
In my own experience the dark blues stay the longest theyll fade to a pastel blue around 20ish washes and stay that way, the purples do the same around 15ish washes and bright pink/turquoise fade between 15-20 washes but with those two ive noticed sometimes they hang on forever and sometimes they fade fast depending on the color you put them on top of, if your hairs been freshly bleached and your putting it on a really light blonde they stay much longer (the same goes for all the colors) but unlike the other colors if your just doing a touch up and adding it over your old color it fades much faster.
All of the lighter colors lagoon blue and the light pink fade fast, maybe 10-15 washes and they fade to a sortof ashy pastel version of the color.
I will say though ive been using punky color for about a decade and its my favorite dye because unlike most dyes (manicpanic for example) it doesnt fade into gross coppers or greens, it just slowely gets lighter with every wash. Which is nice because it starts really vibrant and pretty but eventually will fade to an equally pretty soft pastel so its like getting a dozen colors for the price of one lol and of all the other dyes ive tried this one lasts longest, smells nicest, and doesnt damage my hair (the bleach does though unfortunately haha)

**Q: Is this dye vegan?**
A: It says it is vegan in both the product listing and in the product description.

**Q: I was just wondering if this would do any good on hair that has been bleached twice so it has a copperish color in it still im going for the platinum**
A: It will certainly condition it a bit, give it a bit of a gloss... but it's not going to be able to lighten a copper color into platinum. It's not going to strip any color out at all, what it does is give you a very sheer coat of grayish-purple, just right for dulling down a bright bleached blond into a silvery platinum, but I think you're going to have to strip the remaining color out with bleach. Make sure you bleach it long enough to lighten it past that baby chicken yellow stage if you really want platinum. If you've already bleached twice and are still seeing copper you may want to get some help from a stylist to achieve platinum without burning your hair into breakage. If you are determined to do it again on your own, I will tell you that I have very dark hair myself and have had tremendous success with a boxed bleach called "Born Blonde", you really just need to leave it on past that baby chicken yellow stage, and then use the toner.
