Very quick and easy to assemble. The steam mop heats up and starts steaming very quickly, and is light and easy to use. The cleaning leaves no streaks and dries within a few minutes and the unit feels stable and quite durable. Some people complain that there isn't a power switch (it switches on as soon as you plug it in and switches off as soon as you unplug it) and no button to press to activate the extra steam, but these are non-issues for me. I would prefer a power switch, but the current setup works fine for me as I don't intend on having it plugged in if I'm not using it anyway and regarding the action to release extra steam, you have to press the handle downwards and release. This is a natural movement when pushing and pulling the mop to clean anyway, so you are releasing extra steam with every stroke and not having to press any buttons in order to do so. If there was a button to activate the extra steam, I would probably have it on all the time anyway so the exclusion of one is one less thing to break. I purchased these when they we're on sale, and the price was so reasonable that I bought 2 of them, gifting one to my mother as she has been considering getting one to clean her kitchen floor with - she really likes using it and completely agrees with me that a power switch and button for steam release are not essentials and the lack of them doesn't detract from the functionality of the mop at all. The water tank for it holds enough for me to comfortably mop my kitchen, front room, small front door entryway and bathroom on one fill with plenty to spare - I live in a 2 bedroom house of average size, so if you have many floors to do you may need to fill it part-way through, but that is very quick to do and the mop heats up again ready to use in mere seconds. Please note, this is a mop and will function just like any mop will, electric or not - it will not pickup debris on your floors and will spread/move it around, so you have to make sure you have swept or vacuumed you floors before using this to clean your floors. Sure, there may be other mops that have more features and/or are cheaper, but I think this one serves its purpose very well and I have no real complaints or issues. If you don't have a steam mop, get one, even if it's not this model - your back and your older self will greatly thank you for it.

Cleans my hard floors quickly and easily. No bending or heavy lifting needed, and minimal sweeping motion is all I have to do. The steam is gentle but very effective, and just the right amount comes out. I have had other steam mops that keak and soak the floor with huge bursts of steam, but that doesn't happen with this one, and my floors were dry in a couple of minutes. The whole thing was easy to put together just clicking the handle in place, and the pads are a generous size. Unfortunately you two come with the mop, so another purchase of more pads will probably be needed. The water tank holds a good amount, so doesnt need filling frequently, and there's easily enough to do my whole house.

Very lightweight but feels a bit flimsy. You pump the handle of the mop to activate the steam but it doesn’t come out as fast as my last stream mop and doesn’t clear stains away as quickly. It does the job and was a decent price so can’t complain

I am generally a very clean and hygienic person, but I have a 3 year old with a talent of spillage in a league all of his own. We’re talking Olympic gold standard clumsiness. Mainly juices, so nice and sticky, and a living nightmare for me. I was using a well known brand speed mop to clean my vinyl floors and tiles, but it never really felt like a deep clean, so I invested in one of these nifty little steam mops. Boy, am I glad I did! I received it literally 30 minutes ago, set it up within 5 minutes and then I’ve gone round all my non carpet floors and I’m both amazed and horrified in equal measure. Amazed at how clean my floors look and how easy and quick it was, and horrified at the colour the once white fluffy pad turned by the end of my spree. There’s no smell, it feels lightweight yet sturdy to use and I like the pump action to give it some extra steam when needed. All in all a fabulous buy!

An effective steam mop at a good price. Lightweight but sturdy. Steam output is strong and the tank holds sufficient to clean a good floor area. The handle could do with being a bit longer. I am 5' 11" and find that I have to bend over the the mop when using it.

After many years service I have had to replace my H2O X5 steam mop. I didn’t have the money to buy a new H2O so I bought this Shark. So far, so good. Pros - price; oblong mop head with overlap on the pad to reach the corners; removable tank; lightweight. Cons - no on/off switch so must be turned off at mains; lack of control - you have to keep pumping the handle to produce steam and I’m not convinced the “natural action” of mopping does that reliably, if you are focusing on a particular stain you are not moving back and forth; lack of steam makes tough stains harder. Good for the money though. If I could afford it I would buy a mop with more features. Since I first submitted this review this mop has been reduced in price by most major retailers (something close to one third off) so perhaps it wasn’t so good for the price when I bought it.

I bought this to replace a faulty Vax S86-SF-CC Steam Fresh Combi Classic Multifunction Steam Mop bought 6 months ago. See my review for that item. Pros...lightweight, easy to use and assemble. The pad sticks well to the unit, Filling it was easy. It is just a mop, with no fancy gizmos and it does work. It arrived this morning and i used it straight away. The hooks for cable storage are higher up on this machine but despite this it is more stable and less likely to fall over. There is less cable hence less weight at the top. It does mean less bending over to wind up the cable. All the controls on the Vax are quite low down and means bending down, which, being disabled make it more difficult. On this there are no controls so no bending. The cable is less stiff than the Vax which means less of a fight when using it. The head is not so high which means it gets under appliances a bit more and being rectangular does the corners a bit better. The handle will swivel 90 deg so you can use it sideways and therefore get into spaces of about 5". The push pull action is is light and it is no effort to use and there is no trigger to pull. Cons...The steam outlet is central in the pad meaning the edges (sides) of the pad don't get wet. The front and back do get wet so it took a little longer to do the floor than with the Vax but the result was just as good. I though this was better on my laminate floor since it was less wet and therefore was quicker to dry, but not so good on the tiled floor where the grout lines didn't get as wet. There is no 'ready' light and it took a minute or two to generate steam whereas the Vax is almost immediate. There is no on/off switch. The cable is ridiculously short but that can be addressed with an extension lead so no real problem. I prefer this to the Vax as it is easier to use. Hopefully it wall last longer.

This was a replacement for a B&D steam mop- which I was happy with until it died 2 years into our relationship and, of course, just as I had purchased a bunch of replacement scrubber pads. This mop is different as it heats the water but steam is created by your own back and forth motion which forms the pressure to provide the steam. I know it sounds suspect on many levels but I can say it works and I do think this basic design should outlast the B&D mop. On the plus side the power cord is a reasonable length so no more extension cords and the B&D scrub pads fit almost seamlessly so no loss there- in fact I prefer them to the scrub pads that came with this mop. Lastly, I really like that this mop stands perfectly vertical when not in use and the cord winds up neatly on the handle. This makes it much nicer to store, no flopping around in a corner with a dangling power cord.
