The bag says the pearl sugar is beet sugar crystals compressed to form larger pieces. No mention of any other ingredient or procedure.

I believe this is a 1.5 pound bag that's 24 oz so it would equal approximately 2 cups of salt.

What do you do with this besides making the waffles described? Do you use this as a sugar substitute?
