Many water resistant watch cases are made of this steel process. My 2 Swaggers have held up great. I have used one as EDC and it has lasted well for 3 years plus. Warning!! I have recieved cheap copies (made in China)!! About a 1/3 of Gerbers I've bought on Amazon have been clones, weird. I have a knife expert check my knives now. **Q: Is this a genuine gerber swagger or a fake one , because i read somewhere that china puts out a lot of counterfeit copies of genuine gerber knives ?** A: The knife has the Gerber logo on one side and the GERBER name on the clip. Saw another answer that this is made in China for Gerber. Have been a good knife and used hard. I just keep a quick sharpener handy and touch up as needed.
