## Description

Product Description Choose the RV fridge fan to cool down your RV fridge RV fridge vent suggestion Please measure your fridge vent size and choose the proper double fan size (90mm, 120mm) 90mm: 184 x 92 x 30 mm 120mm: 240x 120 x 30 mm 140mm: 290 x 145 x 31 mm -NOTICE Please confirm your voltage is 12V DC before you purchase. If your voltage is not 12V DC, we suggest you need to purchase an adapter to convert the current to prevent the damage. Please test the double fan and control unit necessarily BEFORE INSTALLATION. Do not attempt to revise polarity to change the airflow direction. It would not revise the airflow direction. The airflow would blow out from the side of the fan cross grille. If you revise the polarity (positive to negative), the fan and controller would not work. Please connect the cable to the same polarity (positive to positive/ negative to negative) There is a probe to detect the temperature of the environment near the evaporator of the refrigerator. We suggest placing the sensor in about 1 inch freely suspended to the evaporator because there is the warmest area. Review: If it hot, and your caravan absorption fridge won’t cool… - We’ve owned our Challenger 650 touring caravan for a few years, and had never experienced issues with the Dometic absorption fridge/freezer, but as the outside temperatures climbed beyond 30C on a recent trip away (and within the attached awning, into which this fridge ventilates, it was closer to 38C) the fridge running on 240v mains hook up was unable to cool much below the mid teens (13-15C) during the day, and would certainly not hold ice in the freezer compartment. After reviewing the various options we chose this 14cm twin fan unit from Titan. Whilst the product itself appears well made, the multilingual installation instructions that are included were not so great, but there are dozens of YouTube videos showing this item being fitted to a range of different vans. Having prepared and watched several “how to” videos, the written instructions did appear a little more logical. I fitted the unit myself. Attaching the fans is pretty easy once you remove the outer plastic upper vent - most videos show how to do this if you haven’t done so before; and if you haven’t you really should just to clear the accumulated dust, dirt and spiders web that gets in there. The 12v wiring can be a little bit more complicated, depending on the type of fridge that you have and where in the van it is installed. We have a Dometic 10.4 series fridge/freezer (the one that opens both ways, left and right), and although this has a dedicated 12v fan outlet behind the base vent cover, to power their own brand of fridge fan, we chose this Titan unit - as it doesn’t rely on double sided tape as part of the installation process, which the Dometic one does. Instead I tapped into the 12v TV amplifier power feed that runs through the top of this space in our van. Whilst this is only “live” when the whole van is switched on (the fridge can run off gas and 12v battery, whilst the rest of the van is effectively off - so this fan unit won’t run if that’s the case, but for our purposes it works perfectly fine). The control panel and wires were fed into the cupboard directly above the fridge (this also contains the TV amplifier, so I followed the same wiring route to this) and the whole install is very neat and out of the way - an important consideration for us, as we occasionally have family join us when we are away and we don’t appreciate additional bright lights shining at night if people are trying to sleep in the lounge area. The control panel is in a cupboard that closes, right next to the TV amp that has probably the brightest blue LED indicator I’ve even seen in a van! Initial testing (no awning, ext temp 27C, running on 240v power) saw the fridge drop to and maintain 6C without the fan on but with the fridge at full power (5/5). Turning this fan unit onto “auto” had the fridge fans run up to around 50%, and the fridge temperature dropped to 2C - sufficient that the fridge was turned down one setting (to 4/5) where it then comfortably held 3-4C with the unit remaining on auto. The fans would periodically run and stop on this setting, so they are not a continuous drain on12v battery power if you don’t have a mains hook up connected. Inside the van, the fans running at full power (manual setting , max 6/6) are barely audible; in the dead quiet of night, at half power (3/6 or typical auto setting), there is no noise whatsoever when the fans are running - our Thetford toilet fan is way noisier that this unit. If you can fit it yourself, or know someone who can safely help you to do so (be careful with the fridge seal and CO risks if drilling holes into the van etc) then this fridge fan unit offers an excellent value solution to keeping your absorption fridge cool when it gets hot outside - one that costs only around 60% of the “manufacturers own” product, and doesn’t rely on double sided sticky tape to hold it in place, tape that I predict would fail after a few years - especially in an occasionally hot, often damp environment behind a typical caravan fridge - another good reason to get in there and give it a clean each season! Highly recommended; just be sure you have room for the larger (and therefore I assume slightly quieter) 14cm fans. If not, go for one of the slightly smaller size options - 12cm, or maybe even 9cm if you have the thinner style fridge vents on your van.
Review: Great Product, Great Company - Total Game changer, so easy to fit and works a treat. Sucks all the warm air out of the cavity behind our Dometic Absorbtion fridge, Titan were a pleasure to deal with when I had a query. Quality product comes highly recommended.
