Old Country Roses 20 Piece Set

My wife was dreaming of this set of china for a very long time. The fact that there are so many complementary sets to go with it means that over time it can be turned into a very complete set of special occasion china that can be handed down through multiple generations. It's also nice that individual pieces can be purchased to replace the occasional broken piece. My only criticism is with how the china is packed. The packing is not very good and of the two sets we purchased, one of them had a broken teacup. Amazon was very good about sending out a new set right away, however, it came with a broken saucer so I had to mix and match between the two broken sets to get one complete set and then ship back the broken set. The only trouble for me was just having to swap pieces and take the broken set to the UPS store to ship back to Amazon. However, it would probably save Amazon quite a bit in replacement expense not to mention improve the customer experience, if the packaging was better designed to protect the china through any rough handling. This would include individually wrapping teacups and plate stacks in paper/bubble wrap and slipping a piece of cardboard between each plate.

Item arrived in pristine condition. Was well packaged and delivered on time. Not one single chip or broken dish. Was very much pleased with this purchase.

I am a new collector of the Royal Albert Old Country Roses. I have a set of eight place setting that are made in England. After much debate and reading all the reviews on the OCR made in Indonesia, I bought this from Amazon and Silver Spoon Store. I want to say that I am no expert on China or glazes, just a consumer. The set arrived in Royal Albert Boxes, packaging was outstanding, all items were in perfect condition, nothing broken or chipped. I noticed that the glaze is different compared to the made in England Set. The made in England set is completely smooth, the set made in Indonesia, you can feel the pattern slightly. The pink roses on the made in Indonesia are a slightly richer color too, which I have to say, I like better. I think that this is a wonderful set and if you have doubts, buy it, you will not be sorry. It is truely a beautiful set.

The set is beautiful but very delicate. One of the saucers was broken when it arrived. I wish it came with a teapot. Otherwise. It is lovely. So far I have this set minus 1 saucer and the spoons my husband bought for mother's day.

The quality of the pieces and the style are both excellent, with elegant teacups and high-sided saucers. We think of it as special-occasion, rather than everyday dinnerware, but it appears sturdy enough to survive regular use. The packaging was inadequate for international freight, with the individual plates and saucers separated from each other only by regular plastic bags. With such minimal impact protection we were impressed that only one saucer got broken. Amazon dealt with this very satisfactorily. We love this dinnerware enough that we'll likely add more pieces to it in the future.

This Classic item is worth repurchasing.

Dishes are beautiful!! But I recieved items at first time dishes are broken and I wanted to replace items. So I recieved another one. Dishes are broken again. I am so frustrated

Very experience material would expect better packaging. It's beautiful but a lot of the saucers came broken.

Con los platos no hubo ningún problema. Imposible diferenciarlos de otros que tengo made in England (esta vajilla es made in Indonesia). Ahora, las tazas.... 4 tazas y 4 tamaños diferentes. Casi 2mm. de la más grande a la más pequeña. Diferencias apreciables a simple vista. El asa de una de ellas desproporcionada en comparación con el resto. Y la rosa grande en todas ellas con un tono muy sospechoso y con muy poco detalle. La he devuelto. Amazon de 10, como siempre.
