It gives you the advantage of a heel shifter without sacrificing the open space of the large foot boards. It is very easy to install and it looks good. If you are used to a heel shifter from another bike this will take some time and practice. At first I did not like it coming from a Vulcan Voyager that has a very natural and instinctive heel shifter, but it also locked your left foot into one position. But after using this shifter daily for the last two weeks it is now almost second nature.
