Just got mine and I'm very happy.
Anyone who has an smartphone knows that from listening to music all day, and watching videos/playing games in your downtime, or even just surfing the web drains your battery. As far as phone batteries have come, it just seems like we can never get enough of a charge on them to last us. I'm sure I'm not alone in having those times when you had more down time, had a lot of extra calls, or just ended up going somewhere else at the end of your day with no chance to charge your phone. That being said I'm sure we've all had that moment when we're down to 5-10% still want to use our phones but think better of it just in case we really need it to make/receive calls, so I'm glad to have this product.Pros:------* Very compact size, handy to keep on you at all times.* Holds a decent charge.* Turns on and off so it's not just wasting juice.* Built in mini usb to charge with.* Comes with a mini usb cord in case you don't have a spare to charge it with.Cons:------* The built in mini usb you can charge with doesn't pull out to any length whatsoever.* Lacks a built in iPhone cord.* Doesn't charge newer smartphones completely, like the iPhone 4s and up.* The usb it comes with is fairly short.Overall:--------It's a very handy product to have, always nice to have the extra juice when you need it, the fact that the built in plug for charging doesn't pull out almost makes it useless. Unless I just didn't have a cord with me I would never use it. Generally the reason why I'd be using this product is because I'm using it now, and it needs to be charged now. Unless you set it down completely that won't be happening with the default plug. It does have a usb slot so you can always plug in your own cord, which I do. With as popular as iPhones are I would expect that it would have a similar built in plug for iPhones, it however does not. If it had both an iPhone and mini usb option that pulled out with some length of cord this product would be a lot better off, but all and all it does what it's supposed to. It'll get your phone charged at least up to 60-70% while you use it, closer to full if you plug it in and aren't actively using it, and that's from about 5%. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a product like this, the major selling point of this are the price point, and reliability of it. You could pay upwards of ~$100 for a similar product easily. So it's always nice to find a cheaper option from a reputable brand. You won't be disappointed if you pick one up, and you'll be pleasantly surprised with the speedy shipping.

Comes in handy in a pinch
The packaging for this charger indicated 1.2x full charge for an Android phone. I have a Motorola Droid. When the phone was on, the portable charger charged the phone to 60% with 2 basic apps running (email, keyboard). When I turned the phone off, the portable charger charged the phone to 90%. In both instances, the phone battery started at less than 5% charged. Now clearly, I never got a full charge from this portable charger, but it certainly comes in handy when you want to take those last few pictures or you need that GPS on your phone to work for at least another 30 minutes. And it came in really handy when the rental car didn't have a plug to plug-in the car cell phone charger. The trick to remember is, to always bring the USB cord that comes with your phone so you can actually plug the phone into the portable charger!!For the price, I say it's a decent value. The packaging is a bit misleading, but I'm certainly glad that I have it.I just wish that the portable charger could be re-charged with a plug-in wall attachment. There was an instance, when I wasn't around a computer to plug in the USB cord for the charger and I hadn't brought the "standard" plug-in wall charger that comes with the phone with me. All I had was the portable charger and the USB cord and no power source that would work... But it simply means, I have to plan better next time and bring everything with me.

Great for iPhone, so-so for iPad
Okay. I knew from the start that this wasn't rated to provide the kind of power that an iPad requires, and I really am not faulting it for that. In fact, I have used this on several occasions when I discover that the little magnetic switch in my iPad has turned the thing on and drained all of the device's power. Plug this in and let the iPad sit for 30 minutes and it give me about 7 or 8% battery -- enough to boot the iPad -- plus another half hour of operating power. My only wish here is that it did this faster and lasted a bit longer. In fact, it seems to last a little longer on my wife's iPad 1. I have the iPad 2.On the other hand, I have fully recharged a dead iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 with this, and had enough power left over for another 1/3 charge a few days later. It is relatively fast to be charged up when plugged into my Mac's USB ports, and even recharges when plugged into the USB port in my car. The entire unit fits in the palm of my hand and weighs practically nothing. This unit has given me good service for more than a year and shows no signs of losing battery capacity. I have probably recharged it over 60 times so far and frequently carry it for a week or more before using it (even for quick top-ups on the phone.)

Does what it's supposed to do, but...
I purchased 2 of these little units a few days ago because our smart phones don't hold a charge all day. So I thought this would be cool to have for when the phone is dying and it's only like, 3PM. I can keep one in my EDC bag, and she can drop one in her purce. I've actually used the device once. It worked as expected, charging the phone from near dead to full charge, though I don't know how fast because I plugged the phone into the Powerhouse before I went to bed. HERE IS WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT IT >>> The on/off button is a simple design, but it sits flush with the outer surface and is very easy to push/touch/bump/press, and accidentally turn on. This on/off button needs to be protected, or recessed somehow. I don't know if it would discharge without being attached to a device to draw the charge out of it. But if you touch the button, the green "on" light does come on. If it would in fact discharge, this would be unfortunate if you thought you could rely on it. I put mine inside a plastic soap box to protect it. Makes it more bulky, but at least I'm reasonably confident it won't get accidentally switched on.
