Another great knife from Kershaw.
I picked this one up at the local Wall-Mart for $65 and it was worth it. It opens lighting fast and has an nice grip feel to the handle. Very easy one handed operation, both opening and closing. I was lucky to get the one with the real toothy serrated blade, more like a saw. A great camping companion. Carries well in my pocket. Doesn't come out unless I want it to. It's razor sharp right out of the box. A nice addition to my collection. If you buy this knife I'm sure you will like it. I'm updating this review because I think it's very important to stress the Kershaw difference. Yes, that sounds like an advertisement, and it was meant to be. I have had such great response from Kershaw that I've decide to become a reseller of their knives. They are simply the best with regards to customer service. Now let's start by saying that no one, and I mean no one can make a perfect knife. They all will have defects from time to time. If you get one that slipped through the cracks and wasn't up to specs You would want a refund or a replacement, right? That's what Kershaw does and more. They will communicate with you directly and they will do what ever it takes to make you a satisfied customer. I have dealt with other knife companies and have run into brick walls. NOT Kershaw! They go the extra mile to keep you coming back for more. So, what about this knife? It is what you would expect for a knife in this price range. It has a low failure rate. It is well built and in 99.99% of the time will not need to be returned or replaced do to a defective item (that's about one in 10,000). I own a lot of Kershaw knives and I have received a few duds. They were all replace or repaired at no cost to me. So when you're thinking of getting a knife. Ask yourself one very important question. If I get a bad one, can I get my money back, or get a new one? The answer when it comes to Kershaw is, undeniably, YES! One more thing. Kershaw is one of the only knife companies that I know if that offers FREE sharpening. Just send the knife to them and they will restore the blade to a razor sharp edge at no charge other then the cost of shipping it to them (about $10). They even cover the return shipping cost. I could go on and on, needless to say, buy a Kershaw knife and most likely, you'll want to but another one. I did with this one.

Best work knife you'll ever buy
Best work knife you'll ever buy. They were $80, they went up $10 but I still think it's worth the money for $100. The tanto blade stays pretty sharp for a long time, I cut rubber all day. The size of the knife is not bad at all, disappears in your pocket. Pick this one for quallity and durability in a work environment. No rust to speak of. Get the serrated for sure.

Best pocket knife
Best knife ever. I keep losing it or get it taken by security. Purchase it for friends as presents. Great easy fling action. Tanto straight edge a plus and retains its sharpness for detailed cuts. Feels the right size, weight and texture in the hand. Wish the pocket clip hid it further in the pocket because I wear it 24/7 no matter what the occasion.

Great Knife
I purchased this knife as an edc to replace my Gerber Bear Grylls knife. While the Gerber was a pretty good knife, it was gray and bright orange and drew unwanted attention at places like work. So, I wanted a thin, black knife to be a little less obvious. The Kershaw turned out to be a good choice. As I said, this is an edc and I use it mainly at work to do thinks like open boxes and such. I chose the tactical version with tanto blade due to the aggressive look. I believe they also have a regular blade if that is more to your liking. Pros: The knife has a very slim profile making it a good fit to clip in a pocket. The blade came very sharp and I was soon missing a few patches of hair on my arm. The knife comes equipped with Kershaw's Speed Safe assisted opening system, which I love. It deploys quickly with very little pressure and, so far, doesn't make me worry about it accidentally shooting open. Another pro is that the clip is reversible, which is one of the first things I did, changing it to make the blade point down. Cons: While I have very little complaints with this knife, one is the grip. The grip is very rough, which is how it is meant to be to avoid slippage. While this is nice while handling the knife, it can be rough on the hands if you shove them in your pocket very often. This is a minor complaint when compared with the benefits of this knife. In conclusion, I recommend this great knife.

Great EDC knife & great customer service!
I've had this knife for just under 3 years now. It's my EDC and goes everywhere with me both at home and at work, and gets used literally almost every day. It's a great quality knife, holds an edge well, holds up to sand, dirt, moisture, chemicals, drywall, ceiling tiles, etc. just fine. Even the black finish on the blade and handle have held up very well for the abuse it's gone through. Aside from occasional maintenance like sharpening the blade and checking screw snugness, the only issue I've ever had was a couple or so months ago, one of the grip inlays fell off and was lost. With a quick Google search for "Kershaw Warranty" I was able to find there warranty claim form. They sent me a brand new full set of grip inlays completely for free! I only used the one that had went missing, the other two were still attached to the knife fine so I kept those new ones as spares just in case I ever need them. Overall I highly recommend this knife, especially for it's price. I had a more expensive Benchmade knife before this one, and I honestly like this one a bit more. Feels more sturdy and holds an edge about the same, and can't beat the awesome warranty service.

TANTO BLUR PURE PERFECTION! 1670TBLKST
At one point I thought I was going to get the cheaper version of the Blur the one with 13C26 stainless steel (per the description), but I got the newest Ken Onion TANTO BLUR 1670TBLKST from Kershaw; with the Sandvik 14C28N stainless blade and DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating and 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum with sure-grip Trac-Tec inserts, all for $42.38; seller is Amazon, free Prime shipping too! The knife is pure sweetness. The lock has zero wiggle room when open. The Speedsafe opener is so fast; never get tired of opening it. The Trac-Tec grip feels so secure in your hand this knife isn't slipping. The Tanto blade is so awesome. the curved top and tanto design make it feel like a shark, the blade is razor sharp out of the box, so is the serration, be careful it will cut you. The DLC coating is so nice to look at, the matte black makes the knife, the matte black finish across the whole knife makes it look great. The aluminum handle matches the knife blade perfectly, the knife is so light at only 4.2 ounces. Finally some Kershaw knives are made in China; not a knock on Kershaw, lots of quality knives are made in China. NOT THE BLUR! MADE IN THE USA! I love supporting made in the USA when its available and this is one sweet product made right here in Tualatin, Oregon. BUY IT! It's worth every penny!

Nice opening, nice blade, prefer a different grip
This is a nice high quality knife overall. I like most of the aspects of it's design. First the opening mechanism. It flips open fast, very nice assisted opening. Check local laws but most places allow for the legal possession of "assisted open" folding knives such as this one. This means that unlike a switchblade where one pushes a button to open a blade, instead one pushes on the thumb stud as one would do a non-assisted open knife but once it is opened up a bit there is a torsion bar which takes over and quickly opens the knife the rest of the way. This makes opening the knife appear to be much the same as a switch blade and this is one of the fasted assisted open knives I have tried. So great point for the opening mechanism. NOTE: not all Kershaw Speed Safe knives have the same opening speed, this one is quite fast and needs to be reviewed as an individual knife, do not count on two assisted open knives, even by the same company working the same or at the same speed etc.. The Blur is a fast one. I like the blade, it is sharp, has a tanto point for added strength and has the serrations which of course aid in cutting of certain materials. On the other hand these are a bit more difficult to sharpen than a straight blade so it is a trade off but one I am willing to accept. Also Kershaw has a policy of lifetime sharpening if one sends in their knife to them, I have not looked in to any shipping charges or turn around time but is an option for those interested. Blade quite sharp out of the box. I have not owned the knife long but it is not showing any play from the blade to handle which is great, I hope it stays that way. The material used in the grip is fine however for me it is not large enough or has enough places for ones fingers and hand to really get a good grip on this knife. Neither is there a guard between hand and blade. Perhaps a larger model would suit me better. I have two CRKT Triumph knives which I think have vastly better grips for example, the knives are also a bit bigger. Perhaps Kershaw has another model that would be a bit bigger that I would like even more. Be aware that there are various models of the Blur. One I think would be nice to have is the model with a dual metal blade with ZDP, I don't know how much that would cost if available (they were a special edition) but would be nice. Aside from that of course there are other editions of the Blur besides this one which you may like better. So to sum it up, very happy with overall quality, VERY happy with assisted opening mechanism, happy with blade, wish grip were a bit bigger or differently designed. If you like the Blur then just make sure you select the model you will be most happy with as there are several.

Kershaw BLUR Two Years EDC and counting. Amazing knife!
The Rad - I have used the Kershaw Tanto Blur with 13C26 stainless steel as an EDC knife for the last two years. It has been used for both light jobs cutting rope and harder things like kindling wood. It has been my go to knife when someone has needed one for a countless number of things. Zip ties, bags, boxes, paracord and every now and then a steak at lunch. My favorite part of the blade is the snap it has when you open it. At first it was a little rough but after about 30-40 times it's simply butter smooth. Every time I hand it to someone I worn them and watch as they get that little glimmer in their eyes after the blade opens and they use it. Many times I have been asked what knife it is and who made it. The sharpness of the blade and serrated edge has yet to be touched up, and needless to say if it dulls you can send it back to Kershaw to have the blade professionally sharpened and you only have to pay shipping. Not to mention the S30V version of this knife is absolutely razor sharp also after two years. The Bad - Others have mentioned issues with the blade and the locking mechanism. I too ran into an issue with a cheap $20 beater Kershaw knife that I bought and Kershaw was happy to fix it free of charge. I am sure you can negotiate the shipping with them if need be. I have never been more impressed by the customer service of a company. BOTTOM LINE - All in all I absolutely would by this knife again, I plan on giving a few to relatives for their use as an EDC knife. The $60 and customer service from Kershaw cannot be matched in quality. Like I said above if you are on the fence between this one and the S30V don't be. I loved this knife so much I bought it in S30V. This on is my beater knife and the quality blade of the S30V truly feels like a gentleman's knife.
