Lazy Stitching may need extra attention by the buyer.
Stitching is coming loose becasue the sewer failed to backstitch at the end of each seam. I had to secure the many loose threads with Dritz Fray-Check. If that fails I will sew over the seams myself. (I gave 5-stars nevertheless becasue of the comfortable gusseted inseam.)

Nice work shorts
TLDR: Buy them. They're worth the money.I work maintenance in Arizona which means hot weather and I also operate a pool which means im getting wet often. I needed a pair of shorts that stood up to the more demanding jobs but weren't dummy thicc like Dickies or Carhart that retain all the water and sweat, and these are perfect for that. They don't feel quite as durable as the ripstop my army uniforms were made of but they dry a lot faster which is a trade off I'm willing to make. The material fades a bit and isn't quite so "silky" after a few washes (might be the soap i use combined with the desert sand), but if you're buying these to work security or law enforcement which I think is what they're intended for they might start to look a little too drab for your dress code.I like the key loops that hang below the belt line so you can access them while wearing a tool belt or duty belt, but I'm not sure why they put the plastic one on the right side only. I'm left handed and I'm not a big fan of the fabric loop on the left side for keys. I ended up hanging a carabiner off it so I could get to my keys easier as the fabric loop likes to twist and curl up after washing and it is tricky to use without looking at it. You could maybe iron it flat and it would work fine but plastic rings on both sides would be an improvement in my opinion. The belt loops are beefy which is nice. Their spacing is good and I don't have any areas that sag below the belt line even with tool pouches on my belt. If you're getting these for security/enforcement I assume you will have a duty belt which I think you need. With the belt loops being so wide you don't have a lot of options as to where your gear is mounted. I have 2 belt mounted tool pouches and a flashlight; the tools sit on my right/left hip with no extra room so the flashlight needs to be much further back than I usually wear it with regular work pants. Not a problem per se, but something that might be good to know.Lastly, and the reason I ordered these specifically. They came in my size and don't make me look like a bum! I'm a large guy and most "tactical" style pants/shorts don't come in my size in general. I'm 6'1" 270lbs, and when I do find pants in my size they have a titanic crotch/butt area and the shorts come down to my shins. These fit well without a bunch of loose fabric and don't restrict my movement when bending or kneeling by getting caught around my knees. The elastic waist in the back is just a bonus and means you don't have to play around getting the sizing just right. Order what you think you need and it gives you enough wiggle room that it is still comfortable whether it's slightly too big or too small.

Stitching failed under medium usage.
I work as a stagehand, and do lots of climbing stairs and carrying light to moderate weight tools in pockets and clipped to belt loops or tool rings when traveling about backstage. The stitching failed on the forward clip ring within two weeks. Within 2 months, the stitching holding one of the velcro patches onto the front pockets completely failed and fell off. 6 months later the crotch stitching around the gusset they are so proud of is starting to fail. For the absurd price, you would think you're paying for well thought and constructed extra features that make them more utilitarian- instead I am looking for replacements not even 6 months later. Just buy normal cargo shorts at this point. Also the rear pockets are far too small to comfortably fit a moderately sized leather wallet. I would pay maybe 25$ for something of this quality, not over 50$.

Nice Shorts
I was looking for a good pair of hiking shorts, and went with these. These shorts are 35% cotton, so they were heavier than I was expecting. I'll keep them anyway, as they appear to be well constructed, and fit really well. I'm a 31 waist, and ordered the size 30 shorts knowing that they had some "stretch" built-in. I was afraid they might be too tight, but they fit nicely. Not too snug, but tight enough so they can be worn w/o a belt. The stitching looks good, and the zippers work and appear to be of good quality. The shorts look good; if a tad long for my taste. They are marketed as "urban survival shorts". Honestly, I'm not sure what that means, but there are plenty of pockets with good closure for security. As noted; I was really looking for a lightweight pair of hiking shorts; something that would dry quickly and pack really easily w/ little bulk. Toward that end, I was hoping for some mesh pockets and interior crotch. These have neither. Still, the quality is good, and they're comfortable. They may not be exactly what I was looking for, but they're nice shorts. They are as advertised.

a very good value
Have been looking for a replacement for my North Face shorts and I really liked several things about these shorts, First, the cotton/poly/spandex ripstop fabric blend is excellent. A 60 cotton/40 poly would have been fine too. The pockets are good, but I need to store my S10 Android in the zipper pocket since its too large for the utility pocket. The zippers are great because I can open and close them with two fingers on one hand - so convenient when on the go. I guess its the YKK. The length is a bit long for a 5'10'' guy but still above the knee. The front pockets are plenty deep enough. These are not worth the tag price sticker of $89 but they are worth $48. Will buy again at that price point.

Front Belt Loops
First off these are great shorts which I bought late 2022 for this summer. had them on a few days now and I am really happy with them.the only issue is that the two front belt loops are a little tight for my regular size belts (1.5"?), it fit but I am unable to loop my regular belt in the front right loop like the one in the photo, that belt is around 1.25"?. the rest of the belt loops appear to be okay with a regular belt.just a little issue nothing to get upset about, more of an FYI for quality control department.I am more than happy to give a 5 star rating for these shorts, and when needed buy other products from them.RegardsDavid
