Versatile and delicious
Sauce is awesome, I keep it on my countertop and throw it on everything. It’s a great source of heat and flavor and is a regular addition to any egg and rice dishes. Also great at turning leftovers into something new. I opt spicy, the heat is not overpowering. Def recommend!

New Favorite Chili Sauce
I'm a big fan of spicy foods so I'm always on the lookout for hot sauces. I heard about Mom's Mala Sauce from some friends and decided to give this a try. It arrived properly packaged and I was excited to see how it tasted. Let me just say that this sauce definitely did not disappoint. It has a nice kick of spiciness without it being overwhelming, and a hint of the numbing mala flavor. The abundant chili oil allows it to mix easily with many types of food. Seriously, I've started using this for so many dishes that it's hard to find something that doesnt mix well with the flavor. I will be buying more of these once I run out.

Delicious Flavor Bomb Sauce
I’ve tried a lot of mala sauces and Mom’s Mala sauce by far outranks them all! This sauce is aromatic and strikes a beautiful balance between heat and umami-ness! For those that are bothered by the numbing effects of mala sauce on the palette, I find this sauce to be mild in that effect but extremely full bodied in flavor which is exactly what I prefer so that I can taste the flavor of the hot sauce and not be overpowered by the heat. I love this as a finishing sauce in any stir-fry, as an accompaniment to any dipping sauces, and like another reviewer stated, added to my morning eggs! This sauce is versatile in so many ways that I find this being my go to sauce as of late to kick up the flavor profile of anything I’m eating!

A cinnamon and chili flavor bomb in the best way.
I don't know much about Sichuan cuisine, but this stuff is REALLY good. Whether you're dipping potstickers in it or drizzling it on flank steak or a salad, it adds a strong blast of cinnamon and other spices with a nice but not overwhelming or absurd spice kick. I haven't tried it as a marinade yet, but it's on the list...Finally, Mom's Mala is based and made here in the USA by a small and independent company. In an era of massive mega-corporations owning everything, it feels good to support a small business and get some awesome chili sauce at the same time!

Surprisingly versatile, adds big flavor
Love the mix of spices and complex flavor, and I use it all the time to top boiled dumplings and steamed veggies. Also love it for taking takeout up a notch. The heat really builds subtly, and with your palate not being blown out you can actually taste the amazing spices. I also like that it doesn’t get refrigerated, so I can store in my cupboard. Just make sure to stir a little bit and dip your spoon to the bottom of the jar to get some of the good spice bits with each drizzle.

Could improve!
I wish there was more chili flakes than the oil itself.

Everything it was promised and more!
This Mala sauce was everything it was promised and more! I have tried my fair share of different Asian style chili oils and this is by far my favorite. The ingredients were high quality and the taste was great. It had the Mala numbing spice without overwhelming the food you were eating it with. I took it to a dumpling night party with my friends and it was a huge hit. A little bit of it goes a long way. I will definitely be ordering more and gifting it to my spice fanatic friends

Breakfast’s New Best Friend
This sauces is absolutely scrumptious on anything you add it to. It’s great as a stand alone marinade (try marinating shrimp, then grill!), as an addition to BBQ (spicy BBQ wings were a HIT!), or dump it all over rice, noodles, and dumplings. My all time favorite way to use it is on breakfast though - I love adding it to my egg sandwich or avacado toast. It’s got a nice kick of spice without overpowering whatever you pour it all over. You’re going to want to buy two jars, trust me.(honorable mentions: on tacos, rotisserie chicken sandwiches, wraps, and stir fry.)
