The handle being angled up like this is either a curse or blessing depending on your point of view. If you ever pull the hose to you, the handle ends up full of grass and dirt. On the flip side, it is easier to maneuver than others I've used, and you can easily hook it on your pocket or belt momentarily versus dropping the hose and bending down to pick it up, which at the end of the day after going up and down ladders and dragging hoses around, every little bit helps! My other two similar shut off valves are not in as good of shape. One still functions fairly well, but the other will not open or close...it's just a dead weight on the end of the hose and has locked onto the hose. Actually, I have 2 quick connect adapters on each hose - 1 between the hose bib and the hose and another on the end of the hose, which permits me to easily switch between various nozzles. **Q: Is it easy to turn the knob? I mean... really easy? (I'm getting this for my wife who has injury in her hands and has trouble with normal hose bibb)** A: The amount of torque needed to move the handle from close to open is probably about the same as any other valve of similar configuration. The thing about this one is that the lever is angled significantly upward, which allows you to put more on it. You could use the heel of your palm, or the edge of your hand, to open the valve. It is very well made and it is the smoothest of any that I have ever used. It is still working just as good as the day I got it. I just bought a second one for a different hose and it appears to be the same quality and works good. Solid brass with a stainless steel ball. The original six year old valve has never leaked and is still easy to turn on and off.
