Lamy Z28 Converter for fountain pen models Abc, AL-star, joy, Lx, nexx, nexx M, safari, vista

It’s a beautifully smooth moving pen. (F) I am using it for Urban sketching.I am satisfied with its performance and also bought the converter so I could use black waterproof ink in place of the blue that it comes with.

My Safari is one of my favorite pens despite being on the cheaper side. I don't mind changing cartridges but it was a glaring difference from my more expensive fountain pens. This solved it at a reasonable price and hasn't failed yet. IDK if it's a testament to the Lamy Safari and its value or this converter specifically, but I have less issues with ink drying up and/or just not flowing when I'm trying to use the pen after a week. I'm liking my Safari with this converter more than a couple of my Waterman's right now for the hassle-free use it's giving me. It's a worthwhile upgrade if you use your Safari often and want to switch to bottled ink for sure.

I recently received my first LAMY safari fountain pen as a gift for going back to school. I’ve always loved to write by hand and I have been using navy blue G2’s for as long as I can remember, and they’re second to none. That being said, I have used only my LAMY from the first moment it touched paper. I’ve picked up 2 more since and they’re incredible. I love the blue black ink cartridges, the color is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I picked up the converter after being gifted a few bottle of very nice inks that I’ve wanted to try. I put it in my vista so I can see the ink as it works it’s way to the nip and onto the page. The converter is exactly as described. It fits perfectly and is compatible with the levenger inks I was given. I love the versatility it affords me as I can mix my own unique colors using the converter. I will definitely be buying another one or two for just that reason. If you enjoy writing by hand you absolutely must get yourself a LAMY fountain pen. The comfort, and quality are second to none and I’ll be using these pens for the rest of my life. My only regret is not trying one sooner.

Like many others, I bought this converter to accompany my first fountain pen, the Lamy Safari. So far I have used three converter's worth of Lamy Black ink with mostly positive results. Pros: The converter lets you use any bottle ink, so you are not restricted to Lamy ink cartridges. The converter can be filled without being removed. The converter can be used to flush the pen when changing to a different ink. Cons: The converter holds less than a cartridge, so you will be refilling more often. Air bubbles form in the converter, and I can't seem to find a way to eliminate them. It doesn't seem to have a major effect on the pen's performance though. When half the ink is used, the ink flow becomes inconsistent. I often could not get the pen to feed on the first stroke, and the strokes were much lighter than before. As a remedy, I turned the piston until a single drop of ink came out of the nib resolving the flow and consistency issue. Conclusions: Overall, I am satisfied. The converter's volume and flow problems are a bit disappointing though. Regardless, It is still a must buy for all Lamy pen owners. Bottled ink has a larger selection of colors and is cheaper than cartridges in the long run. Alternatively, you can refill cartridges using an ink syringe at the expense of the converter's convenience.

I had been buying refill cartridges for my Lamy until after throwing the fourth one into the garbage, and thought- there has to be a better way. I did a search on Amazon, and found this handy-dandy little gizmo. It's easy to use- you just turn the orange part of the top like a screw, and it pulls ink into the plastic cylindrical chamber. When the screw can't go any farther, it's full. If you don't use your pen every day, I would empty the ink, and rinse this out, as well as the nib. I forget about my pen and leave it sitting for days quite often. (In fact- writing this reminded me to check on it, and it was dried out and needed cleaning.). This is super-easy- just turn the orange thing to expel the ink, then draw water up into the clear cylinder, and repeat. Set it on a paper towel to dry while you rinse your nib. I ordered the black Lamy German ink to go with it. The inkwell has a nice, wide top and works great with the converter. The ink is nice and rich black. Both items are highly recommended!

Easy to fill. Ink flow is smooth and it’s going to save me some money on disposable reservoirs. 100% would recommend.

Wenn man Patronen einige Male befüllt hat (Converter in den Füller stecken, dann Feder in die Tinte halten und "Rad" hochdrehen), gehts auch relativ leicht. An sich auch sehr simpel. Kleckert auch nicht und hat bisher schon viele viele Füllungen geschafft. Ich hatte mich immer gefragt wofür man 10er Packs kaufen kann, ich benötige sie im Nachhinein auch erstmal nicht. Man kann die patrone nicht befüllt mitnehmen, daher ist es unsinnig mehrere Converter zu besitzen (außer einem Möglichem Ersatzprodukt). Blöd ist nur, das öfter Mal Luft mit rein geht und dadurch der Converter nicht ganz befüllt ist. Dies hängt m.M. jedoch nicht mit explizit diesem Produkt zusammen. Man kann sie schlecht wieder raus drücken und dafür nur das kleine Stück Tinte wieder rein, nur mit großem Friemeln, da befülle ich jedoch lieber die ganze Patrone neu! Sternabzug also nicht für dieses Produkt, sondern Converter insgesamt. Ich würde sie letztendlich wieder kaufen und auch weiter Empfehlen!
