I use this bowl in my dog's 22x30 metal crate. It doesn't take up too much room, and was extremely easy to install. I can see how the mounting bracket could be an issue if you plan to fold up the crate (you'd have to remove the bracket), but that isn't an issue for me. It's easy to remove and reattach the bowl and it definitely stays in place. My dog hasn't managed to spill any water at all. It would be great if this bowl was available in stainless steel, but I'm not sure it's even possible given the design of the base and how it attaches to the mounting bracket. To summarize: this bowl is very sturdy, easy to install and does exactly what it's supposed to do - at a great price.

Was one of my smartest purchases! Easy to attach to a normal dog kennel and it stays in place!!! I’m in process of crate training my bernedoodle and this has been wonderful! No worries of water spilling and my pup has access to water anytime shes in cage. I’m buying another for when she needs a bigger one as she gets older! 5 star purchase for sure!

These work well for offering water while crated. They do not spill easily and they can be mounted high enough that my dogs are still able to use their beds and spread out in the crate. The 20oz size works well for my Huskies and Husky mixes and the 40oz size works well for my German Shepherd. The only thing I will say is that they fit best on a standard crate. One of my girls is an escape artist and the 20oz size didn't fit as well on the bars of her crate, which are wider and spaced farther apart. We just switched the attachment hardware from the 40oz size for her, which is longer. If you have a different crate style you may want to opt for the 40oz size for the larger attachment peices.

I was pretty excited about this bowl at first. Several foster dogs have come and gone through our house and used this water crock with good success. It twists off easily from the base, the bowl stays put so the dogs aren't laying about in their water. I liked that it was the iron rings that water bowls fit into, I have heard that some dogs have gotten stuck in those bowls and have hurt themselves. So why three stars? We kennels our 8 pound dog one day. She hadn't been behaving very well with the other dogs and we decided that she needed a space of her own for a day. We put our teeny tiny dog into the kennel, we secured her water, we were gone for two hours, when we came home the base of the crock was in little tiny pieces. I have no idea how she did it, but the crock was in one piece, the base was destroyed. I can not for the life of me figure this out. If you have a clever or destructive dog, this might not be the carrier water bowl for you. For most of our dogs this crock worked well, and even after little bit broke this water bowl, we bought another one. But the next time she needs quarantine we will have to use an industrial strength water bowl.

I actually used this crock for a bird bath in my cockatoo's cage. I needed something big enough he could get in it, but still be small enough to fit in the cage. It had to lock on and be something that the smart cockatoo couldn't unscrew or take apart (he's really good at doing that!) This worked out perfectly. We have to be careful that he doesn't see how we turn the bowl, because the way it's set up, you simply have to turn the bowl to unlock or lock it into place, that way you can take the bowl out to clean it and refill it and replace it without having to take the entire lock and assembly off each time. Makes changing water super easy. It's sturdy, sturdy enough to hold on the cage and won't be messed up by a dog chewing if a parrot with a stronger bite grip can't crack it. Overall, it's a great bowl and we would buy it again if or when we need another one.

My Macaw has developed a new habit where she gets under the stainless bowls that came with her cage and knwock the bowl loose, causing all of the food to spill out. I found this product and it completely solves this problem. No more messes and no more spilled, wasted food. Super easy to install, and it looks great too!

These are great, well made and a good deal. Do not tighten them too hard or they can break (the reason I ordered these was this happened to an older set). But for the price they are a great design- you can remove the bowls to fill or clean them with a twist, they can’t be dumped or flipped, and you don’t have to remove the holders to clean the bowels. Brilliant!!!! Love these! Get the right size, they come in small and larger. 💕

Bought this one for kibble because the one I bought 20yrs ago is still going strong and I bought a second crate, so I needed a second dish. The plastic on these are nice and strong and easy to clean. I feel like the company has changed nothing on these in the last two decades and that's a good thing because it was a good product then and it still is.

my parrot loves it and so do i super tuff bowl , but my guy loves to chew the base when i am changing his food or washing it out , so let see it is made very strong but lets face it when you have a beak with 1800 lbs of pressure you can pretty much destroy anything !!!!! thanks Garth

Very good but would be better if stronger support bracket, it breaks to easily. The picture makes it look like you can set it at an angle but I've not managed to do that, I have bought several in differant sizes for use with puppies. Unfortunately, they break the bracket rendering the bowel useless

They are good quality & would work well for most animals. BUT our scarlet macaw can bite through the crock easily & does it whenever she wants. We've switched her over to the metal ones.
