With ease, I've gotten raccoons and other larger game as well.

So what else can one do to gain more leverage to cock this gun for the first time? once i do that i’m fairly sure i will be able to get the hang of it

put the butt at the top of your leg near your hip and barrel pointing up, one hand under the foregrip and with the other give it a whack to break it free and then pull down. there's plenty of youtube videos showing this.

How do I keep my scope from falling after I shoot even if it’s on tight?

If the nut to tighten keeps loosening try some loctite for the thread, and make sure scope is on correctly. ( THERE IS 2 TYPES OF LOCTITE RED N BLUE ONE IS FOREVER HOLD) so be sure what you want.
