Perfect for small apartments!
UPDATE: 3 YEARS LATER AND STILL HOLDING UP WELL! Totally forgot about the fifth leg and haven’t used it since I think making my initial review haha its noticeable now only starting this 3rd year that the middle of the table once fully expanded kind of dips down but was an easy fix after putting the 5th leg down and the dip is gone. Only thing is when you move the table with the 5th leg down, its easy for it to get knocked out of place and doesn’t move easily with the rest of the table. Other than that this table has stood up to 3 big moves and maybe a hundred retract and expands. Its still going strong! Tip is to get those furniture felt pads for the legs so it can move easily when you want to change the size of the table! This is by far my best investment, I’m sure of that! It can be small enough to be a small desk, but can also get big enough to sit at most 10 (might be a little tight but it will definitely do)! It’s pretty sturdy, though it comes with a weirdly placed wood that can come down as an extra foot in the middle of the table to keep the table up with all the leaves put in (doesn’t have to be all though). It’s kind of hard to pull to expand it and to retract it because its all wood. But as long as you have one other person to help you expand it or have a wall to help you retract it, you should be fine! There’s a bit of a resistance, but other than that its perfect! You have to put the leaves (extra panels to expand) away because they can’t be stored in the table, and the drawers are fake. But it’s definitely worth it! We’ve already expanded and retracted it dozens of times over the last couple of months and it still holds up like new! Try it out because its amazing with the price and the quality!

Love this table!
I absolutely love this table! It is solid wood and works perfectly in my space for one (aka me) as a console table, as a square puzzle table, and as a dining table when I have friends/family over. Delivery and assembly was super easy. As previous reviews have stated fully expanding the table and adding the leaves is difficult for one person but doable for me with the help of the wall. I mainly use the table as either console or square and love how easy it is to switch between those two options. Lastly it is just gorgeous and fits right in with my wood mission style bookcases. You would never know this classic, sturdy table with such an innovative “transformer” design was less than $500 on Amazon. I am now eying up the different styles of fruitwood folding chairs from Stakmore to match the table when I have to seat additional dinner guests. Don’t hesitate, just buy this table!

Wow! Amazing table!
I bought this table because I wanted something that could accommodate many people when needed, but be able to be stored in a little area. The dining area in my Townhouse isn't very big, and I don't have room to have a 6 person table there permanently. This table can go from a small desk to a table that easily seats 6, and can probably even seat 8. The description on Amazon says the table can be as small as a console table, but really it's the size of a small desk. The table comes with a top that can fold, and two leaves. When it's in the desk setup the top is folded. To get to the card table setting all you have to do is pull the back legs out until they click and unfold the top, no leaf is necessary. There is a hidden 5th leg and when the table is pulled out completely this leg comes out to add more support for the biggest setup. The table is made out of very nice hardwood, and it is sturdy. Set up was super easy, all I did was pull it out of the box and attach the legs. I bought six of the True Mission Folding Chairs in Warm Fruitwood Finish (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003UIUWAC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00) to go with the table. They're made by the same company and the chairs and table actually look like a set. The paperwork that comes with the table says that it is not meant to be at the biggest setting all the time, and I can see why they say that, If you want a table that can seat 6 at all times, there is no reason to get a convertible table. This table is perfect for what I need, most of the time set up as a smaller table that can seat 1-2, but can be changed to seat a good number of people when needed.

You know what you're buying, which is to say garbage, but that might be okay
Let's get real. This is not a good table, nor is it well-made or long-lasting. It is cheap, it looks maybe a little less cheap than it was, and it lasts as long as a cheap table will. The top has no support for anything heavier than a felt coaster, the "drawers" are fake and the metal handles will rattle like Scrouge and his chains any time you so much as breathe on this thing, and trying to shift between the sizes is like attempting to solve a puzzle to escape from one gulag to a second, larger gulag. The final straw for me, and the impetus of writing this review, was that while trying to make room to put in a leaf, my Hulk-like strength (I am a 5'5" white woman) was enough to rip every single hinge out of the table. I pulled eight screws out of this thing like it was margarine, because this table is as soft and cheap as margarine. Don't get me wrong - you could do worse. Absolutely. This table will last probably 2, maybe 3 years, of regular wear and tear before something serious gives way. It will absolutely happen. There is no avoiding it. But if you need a table in a pinch that doesn't look totally wretched, this might do. Know that it is going to fail you sooner than later. I'm not going to tell you to not buy it, in the same way that I wouldn't tell someone to not buy a 1998 Camry for 500$ - that's your business and your judgement. But be aware of what this is, what you're getting, and what to expect. Much like the Soviet Union or a subpar flan, it will give you the bare minimum promised and then eventual collapse. Good luck.

Space Saving!!
This is what I have needed for so long. Great quality.. easy assembly.. wonderful value. I can push it up against the wall and it just looks like a side table.,,, very small and doesn't take up any room. Then, you pull it apart,, put in the 2 leaves and you have a very nice table that can seat 6 comfrtably. Love this

Excellent table for the money!
I bought this table because I am temporarily renting a small house, and I didn't want a set that would take up a huge amount of space (or cost a lot of money). I also wanted dining chairs with arms that would slide under the table when not in use, so I bought those separately. The table is nicely made and assembled easily. It is sturdy and as classy looking as much more expensive tables. Plus it is extremely versatile, going from a small side table to a square card table all the way to a dining table than can sit 6-8. My only disappointment is that my four dining chairs do not fit under the table - due to the very arms I wanted! Possibly because of the expandable nature of the table. I could swear I checked all dimensions to make sure they would fit. But either I made a mistake, or the Amazon description or the manufacturer's description was wrong, I'm not sure which. So I cannot have my goal, namely a compact square table that all four chairs fit nicely under when not in use. But I am going to adapt because I like the table so much. If I expand the table all the way, two chairs will fit under each of the two long sides. The table instructions say not to leave it expanded all the time. But my table will get so little use that I think it won't be harmful to leave it expanded.

Quality Control Issues Mar an Otherwise Great Table
My wife and I were looking for a board gaming table to replace an old resin folding table that we have been using for years. We generally have a varied amount of players -- anywhere from the two of us all the way up to 10. With this in mind, we wanted a table that was a little wider and would more comfortably accommodate more players as needed. After lots of research and reading reviews, I settled on this product. I really liked (and still like) the concept of a convertible table that switches from console, rectangular table, slightly larger dining table, to all the way to a giant dining table. When the product arrived, the box was in decent condition -- only a few dents here or there. My wife and I were impressed by the weight of the product and it didn't feel cheap at all. Assembly was a cinch, as we had to do was attach the four legs. Once we had done that, we removed the two included leafs and that was all. Then we noticed the issues. The first problem was that this table was almost impossible to convert. The mechanism is wood sliding on wood, and we were encountering all kinds of resistance. After a good deal of struggling, we managed to open the table, but now it had opened unevenly and was even harder to move. After struggling to close the table again, we managed to open it more evenly, which helped, but did not completely fix the issue. Then we noticed the cosmetic damage. When in console mode, the table is actually two layers deep, connected by a several hinges. When we opened the table, it was revealed that the hinges had damaged the tabletop (this is a result of poor design) in all but one of the places in which there was a hinge. You can see this in my photos. Some of the damage is complete superficial, but one of them left a pretty good hole in the tabletop and exposed the fleshy internals of the table. There is also a pretty good scratch on the table. As we continued to open the table and explore the various configurations (and continued to struggle to open and close the table evenly), we realized that at the largest configuration, the table bows inward even though there is an hidden fifth leg. The leg does absolutely nothing, and I would be afraid to leave the table like this for too long or to have anyone lean against it while playing a game. We ended up settling on the second-to-largest size. I briefly considered returning the table as a result of the issues we were encountering and the cosmetic damage, but it seemed like too much of a pain to be worth it. The table still looks nice, but I know I was always be bothered by the nicks where the hinges are. For gaming, we decided to cover the table to with a neoprene gaming mat. Overall, this table serves its purpose as our gaming surface. I can overlook the cosmetic damage and design flaws because it is not as expensive as comparably large tables and we use it primarily for gaming (it is not our main dining table). However, I would be cautious about using this as your main dining surface due to the many issues we have encountered. I have some reservations about recommending this product, but if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive secondary surface or are really in a crunch for space, this might be the table for you.

FOUR Sizes, Beautiful Finish, and Easy Assembly
UPDATE: 3 YEARS LATER: Still love the table, though the corners are a little worn (see pic), and I can see it is particle board underneath. So I'm a little disappointed that the sellers say it's "solid wood." But I would still buy this table again! The table has been beautiful, flexible in sizes, and very sturdy. Meets all our needs. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The product pics don't do justice to this beautiful table. In real life, it looks like solid stained wood to me (though I'm not sure what it really is), and I am picky about wood products. We expected three sizes, but there are actually four: 1) the small desk size (see my pic), 2) the fairly square size, 3) a larger size adding one leaf inserted, which is our favorite size and not indicated on the product page (see pic) 4) and the largest size with both leaves inserted. At the largest size, the table easily seats 6 or more, but it’s a little large for our house. We shopped exhaustively for a nice convertible dining room able in our price range and were not having much luck at IKEA, Target, Walmart, or used furniture stores, until we saw this one on Amazon—in a league of its own. The color is a rich, warm walnut; then, if you shine a warm light on it, the color can even seem to have some red hues (I took one pic with the light on and one with it off, to demonstrate). It’s a versatile color that can easily coordinate with cherry, walnut and darker colors, and I opted to pair it with white contemporary chairs with light wood, just to brighten the feel of my house. My husband and I were both surprised by the thickness and beauty of the table when we opened the box. We were also surprised by how quickly this went together. You just bolt the legs on; everything else is already assembled. We could not be more thrilled with this beautiful table, especially for the price. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
