Are they full of pecans piled up or just 3 or 4 and kinda flat?

Three, four maybe 5 pecans, kinda flat but oh so good. I buy this brand down on Royal Street when I am in New Orleans.

What are the ingredients?

Ingredients: sugar, pecans, corn syrup, evaporated milk, cream, butter, molasses, sorbitol, vanilla flavoring, salt, caramel color, soy lecithin, potassium sorbate ( for freshness), Contains: Milk, Soy, and Tree Nuts (Pecans).

Are these supposed to be soft?

No, they are supposed to be chewy, and somewhat crusty on the outside. Pralines are nothing but butter and sugar and pecans. They are poured onto a flat surface, hence the "puddle" shape, and set up over time. If they are crystaline, or feel as though they have little "icy" bits, however, they are too old, and should not be eaten.
