I kept making these dishes without dashi flakes and wondering why they didnt taste the same. I kept looking to see if any of my local stores have dashi flakes but couldnt find any. I eventually came here. I have dashi flakes. I have made at least 30 cups of miso soup in the past month and I wish I ordered this 5 years ago. Dont skip the dashi flakes. Maybe order a smaller size bag than this if you dont eat miso soup every day. Bag is resealable but I worry about how long it will hold on the shelf.
