I have dogs who need to be walked 4-5 times a day, and I play golf, so avoiding the sun is impossible. I have had many squamous cell carcinomas on my arms and legs, so I need to keep them covered even in very hot weather. And in Florida right now, the heat index is often well over 100. Wearing shorts has become out of the question for me because I need to cover my legs. . Wearing sun block is not good because it has to be applied at least 15 minutes before exposure, and that is not always possible. And I don't want to sit on my furniture when I've been greased up. So long pants, and protective sleeves are the best solution for me. I have a few other protective sleeves, but I like these the best. Hopefully they are doing a good job of protecting me from the sun. I like that they cover the backs of my hands because I've had many pre-cancerous cells on them. I'm hoping these sleeves will help with that too. They are very comfortable and easy on/easy off. They are machine washable. I put them in a mesh lingerie bag for the washing machine, so they don't get tangled around the agitator. I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs to protect their arms from the sun. **** I have an update after wearing them for several months. I like them and would buy them again. But I have discovered that the thumb holes could be reinforced a little better. Some of the threads have unraveled. They are not in danger of falling apart, but they could be stitched around the thumb holes better. And the stitching at the hems at each end are unraveling a little also. Could be better. I'd give them a 4 1/2 stars, but that is not an option. So 5 stars it is.

This household has long appreciated UV sleeves. They provide sun protection without feeling sticky, like lotions, or needing to be rubbed in, like sprays, or needing to be reapplied. It may seem to be counter intuitive to wear long sleeves on a hot day, but they keep you cooler by keeping the sun off your skin. We use just one sleeve to block sun damage on the driver's door-side arm on long trips. They're also a barrier against biting insects. In a pinch, we've also used them for warmth when the weather changed on a mountaintop hike. Now for these sleeves: The fabric is smooth and typical in quality of other sleeves we've used. They are long enough to pull up past my biceps, which is good for slightly taller folks. The elastic at the top is milder than other sleeves and doesn't bind my upper arm, yet isn't inclined to roll or slide down below my bicep. However, the thumbhole appears to be unfinished, without reinforcement at the edges or corners to prevent tearing. This could become an issue with heavy wear and/or frequent washing. I expect they are washable but I always recommend washing sleeves in a lingerie bag. White sleeves reflect the sun's heat the best but also shows dirt the fastest. Considering how easy it is to lose a sleeve, it's a good idea to have a spare set. That makes this set a good value.

These are stretchy, light-weight and not too hot to wear in the summer. I used them under an arm brace that had velcro straps. Strands of the fabric did catch on the velcro causing runs in the fabric. The brace was much less annoying to wear using these sleeves -- I am happy with them.

Easy to use and comfortable for extended periods. When its brutally hot and sunny, I dampen these and they keep my arms cool. Great as they are as well. I like the multipack because I hand wash them and hang them to dry after every use to maintain their shape.

Does what it says it does, but material wears out extremely fast, especially after one day of usage, washing it destroys it even more drastically.

These "sun sleeves," as we call them, are a wonderful alternative to applying sunblock. I break out in an allergic rash when I get more than a few seconds' worth of exposure to the sun here in Phoenix, which makes a 50+ spf sunblock a daily requirement for me. But here's the run - I detest applying sunblock products. I have sensitive skin and a sensitive nose, and most sunblocks made for sensitive skin are expensive, gloppy, and expensive. And they are scented, which makes it tough for me to enjoy the sun blocking benefits of using them. But enough about my aversion to applied sunblock. These sleeves are fantastic! I mostly wear the white ones as they have the greatest cooling effect, but it's nice to know I have other colors to choose from. I admit, they do tend to roll down to my elbows, but that's not surprising as my upper arms are quite heavy. The thumb holes are a wonderful feature. These sleeves are so easy to put on and use that I can slip them on at a typical stop light - I wear them mostly when driving. All in all, I'm impressed with these sleeves and think my dermatologist would be, too.

Wow! Never thought I'd feel cooler while hiking with more covers on! These are light weight, breathable, sun blocking and keep me cooler. They fit well. I'm 6' 2" and wear a 37" sleeve, and these fit! Love the thumb hole to keep the back of my hands covered. So far they are holding up well.

Protects my wife's arms from the sun! Fits well.

I boght this a year ago and I am still using them. It keeps me cool during the summer and warm during winter. I wear it all the time while driving, walking and cycling. I recommend if you want comfortable sleeves that keep you protected.
