🥖 Whisk it like a pro!
Once you've used this dough whisk, you'll count it as one of your essential baking tools. It's perfect for mixing heavy dough prior to kneading. Way better than a spoon and much easier to clean. Sturdy and well made of a beechwood handle and stiff stainless steel wire head. Flow-through wire whisk design blends ingredients thoroughly and gently. Overall length: 15 1/4" Tip: Rinsing off dough with cold water works better than hot water. "I don't know how I got along without this! Mixing dough with a spoon or spatula was like slogging through quicksand, but this sturdy whisk just slices through. Its rounded shape makes it easy to scrape the sides of the bowl so everything is incorporated, and so little sticks to it that it's really easy to clean. Besides, it makes me feel "professional". Love it! Thanks for the great product and the great service!" Margaret, Ball Ground, GA "Yesterday the postman delivered the Danish Dough Whisk I ordered last week. So I immediately set about preparing a dough (which is now proofing after an 18 hour rise). It is truly a magic wand — so effective and so easy to clean. Thank you, Thank you!" Karil Rauss, Zurich

Heavy Duty and Efficient!! (UPDATE)
I love to bake bread and I've been eyeballing one of these Danish dough hooks for a long time on sites such as Breadtopia. Now that I have used it I cannot believe I have gone this long without one! This tool is so well made, it reminds me of something the Amish would make. It is one fine tool and it mixes thick dough in no time, saving time. The dough also comes together more smoothly and efficiently without dry patches of dough left sitting at the bottom of the bowl. As far as one review here stating it to be too large, I do not have that problem at all with this whisk. It is sturdy and hefty, but I had no problem managing the size of the handle at all. Maybe for an elderly person with weak muscles?....I would not have chosen a smaller size. This one is perfect for me.It's also very easy to clean compared to using a spoon or other tool. You won't be sorry...Update July 16, 2014:Years later and I have to say it would be difficult for me to give up my Danish Dough Whisk. It's great for stirring thickish sticky batters, bread baking, and also great for mixing meatloaf thoroughly without having to over mix it!I purchased another brand for my daughter and it's not nearly as nice as this one. Smaller too. This larger size is what you need to get the job done easily! I also like that the outside round wire will scrape the bottom of the bowl to insure that every bit of loose flour is captures. Great tool!

Much better than it looks.
When I first saw the picture of this Danish Dough Whisk - Small , I thought that it looked rather crude and amateurish, but this is actually a very well-thought-out kitchen utensil. It works very well for both stirring sourdough starter in your jar/crock, and for mixing flour and other ingredients into the dough when it is still in the bowl.It is VERY well made and is not flimsy at all. I think it will last forever. Also, the handle is of a nice size and is thick so that you can get a good grip on it.I bought the small whisk which fits into a Le Parfait jar easily for stirring my starter. I don't think that the large whisk would fit into this type of jar.I also think that it looks pretty cool on my kitchen island with my other whisks. Kind of Old World looking. Quite a turn around from my first impression of it!I am very happy with my purchase. 5 stars.

It works!
When I saw the Danish Dough Whisk with its twisted wire, I was ready to dismiss it and stick with a wooden spoon. I'm glad I didn't. The whisk really works and it's better than a spoon. It moves easily through bread dough (easy on your arm), mixes very well, and the twisted wire is easy to clean because very little dough sticks to it. The small Danish Whisk (I have both now) mixes sourdough starter easily. And an added bonus: I discovered Breadtopia has a wonderful web site with helpful videos and good recipes for bread makers. Watch a video and you will see the whisk in action.

Dream for mixing pizza dough
I was inches away from purchasing a stand mixer so I could easily mix up the pizza dough I recently fell in love with. I had gotten frustrated trying to mix it by hand and frustrated and cut up trying to use the food processor. The stand mixer I borrowed worked well though. Still, I was having a very hard time justifying the expense and the space one would take up. Luckily, I stumbled across the dough whisk and decided to give it a try. I was impressed with how sturdy the metal part was, indeed it does cut through and mix the dough nicely. I have used it now for pizza and bread dough, mixing cookies and muffins. The metal part washes up nicely (I try to do it very soon after mixing) but the wood part wouldn't do well to sit in water for very long. This little tool saved me about $200 and is something I can clean up easier than a stand mixer and throw it in the utensil drawer where it is out of sight. One of my BEST kitchen purchases ever!

Sturdy, elegant, and simple.
Works great for dough and batter. Ever need something more than a wooden spoon, but less than a whisk because the mix is too thick? This is just the thing for that.

Love, love, love this whisk!
I make a whole wheat rye sourdough. The instructions tell you what it should do when kneading it. Made it all the time, but never, ever did it do what the instructions said from start to finish. Until I started using this puppy! It thoroughly mixes everything. No huge clumps of dough having to be pulled off a spatula or spoon constantly. No dough fingers. The difference was night and day between before DW and after DW. My customers noticed the difference right away. There are few other breads that gave me fits, so I had quit baking them. Used my trusty dough whisk and huge difference. Still not sellable, but definite improvement.I debated over this purchase for quite awhile. I really didn't think a whisk could or would make a big difference. Now it's in the category of 'from my cold dead hands'.It has a few cons..It has to be cleaned immediately. Cover what you're working on and throw it in the fridge if need be. Do not delay washing it. DO NOT LET ANYTHING DRY ON IT, you will be sorry and maybe tears. The join catches all sorts of stuff and I recommend a toothbrush or nail brush. The handle is rough. I used a fine grit sandpaper on mine. The handle is rough

Use it a LOT
I use it a LOT, unfortunately the shipping was insanely expensive, so I would not buy it from this vendor again. In the meantime I have found other places to buy these tools as well, which do not charge so much for shipping. The tool is awesome though, especially for sourdough.
