Review: Ode to my Badge Holder - We are gathered here today to honor a badge holder that truly held its own. Purchased in August of 2019, this badge holder showed up ready for work. A little larger than expected, it came with a twin that was assigned to someone else. But this one stayed with me. Through covid. Through return to office. It was there, day in and day out, three to five days a week depending on policy. It never complained. It was ever capable, offering to assist in opening bottles or opening specifically M6 Hex Nuts for some reason, but it's primary duty was the constant, multiple times per day pay out and retraction of a plastic coated fine steel cable. It kept my badge close, and by that, all of my coworkers safe. It was a survivor. I've seen many badge holders come and go, but this one stayed with me longer than any other, regardless of what hours I worked or when I needed it. It survived an automobile accident without a scratch. In fact, it's only issue was the one it exhibited today... At approximately 3:15pm, October 15th 2025, this badge holder paid out its last reel. In moving to open a door, the cable had become worn, and retracted back prematurely, my badge still held out in front of me for the door. I was shocked. I was in disbelief. My long time companion's life suddenly cut short, unexpectedly. It made me wonder: Our badge holders hold our badges for us day in, day out. But who holds them? Maybe hold yours close today. Five stars. Would buy again.
