It works well with smart things and can alert you when it feeds. You can use an iPhone block for the power supply. ### ⭐ Poor Customer Service... Breaks just after Warranty expires *by J***J on April 13, 2021* Tried working with customer service about the rotation of the feeder rotation failing intermittently. Their response was slow and repeated same questions over and over. Appeared to be an attempt to get consumer to give up after 2 weeks of this. Tried the support through the IOS App as well and they stopped responding all together. Started failing just after the 1 year warranty and iLonda wasn't interested in the slightest in making things right. Buyer beware. This feeder has satisfactory automation with the Smart Life app. Awkward and bulky but usable for a small tank.We've used this for our 5 gallon tank when we've been out of town. We've set it up a few times over the last 6 months (the longest was for 3 weeks). It's worked well enough to keep our fish shrimp and snail alive.It seems like the bad reviews for this come from people having trouble using the WiFi function. If you're not comfortable with the Smart Life app this feeder is available under several names in two versions as of February 2020. You don't have to use the co-branded apps especially if you're already using Smart Life or Tuya.It takes some trial and error to get the opening small enough for the tiny amount of flake food our tank 5 gallon needs. The actual feeder canister and rotating mechanism seem to be of ok build quality but the mounting bracket feels like it could break easily. We ended up taking out one of the plastic screws then using a styrofoam block to get the feeder to solidly attach to the tank. We also had to make a custom lid with a hole for the food since our tank is completely covered with the stock lid.Flakes come out inconsistently when the feeder is set to the minimum opening. When we're gone for more than a few days we keep the feeder opening small to avoid over feeding.
