It seems that it uses electricity to create artificial infrared, It might have a high level of EMF which is harmful to our body. We use EMF free silicone heating wire just to heat up natural gemstones, which in return emits natural infrared into the body. It's natural and has no side effects. HealthyLine mats provide temperature as high as 160 Fahrenheit (compare to 130F). HealthyLine mats use at least 14 different functional layers to increase therapy and protect the body. The only good thing about the other pad you mentioned is flexibility and softness. Our mat is not as flexible as old fashion heating pad because we use so many functional layers and a total of 50 flat stones on the surface that are 2 inches wide (each).
