Nice German course
I've nothing else to compare it with, but it seemed very good to me. There are listening exercises, reading, grammar examples and usage. The material is interesting, and it's very nicely presented, with a modern look. There's a book of exercises that goes with it, which I also bought, and I worked through the two of them together. I've just finished the whole book (although, of course, there are lots of things I can't remember!). The last 2, of 12, lessons don't contain much new grammar but they do have a lot of vocabulary in them, so there's a tendency (to which I succumbed) not to spend too much time on them. I've now gone on to book 2, which also looks pretty good.

Useful for both in-class learning and self-study
I'm using this course book for my own self-study, although it is clear that the course is really intended for use in a language class environment. The book, as part of the Course Pack, is supplemented with two CDs and a DVD. I have only completed the first two lessons, but the material seems useful and the presentation and format are enjoyable. I have also purchased the Activity Book, which provides useful further exercises to complement each lesson in the course book.

For the price I could have bought the Coursebook, with DVDs, and the Activity Book, separately. The description and photo, both of which refer to "Course Pack", indicate that the FULL course is included. Don't be fooled! The Activity Book is not included. I am unhappy that both the seller & Amazon have yet to address this issue, which from the multiple reviews has been an ongoing one for several years.The Coursebook itself is well presented.

Great for beginners if you buy the CD too
Great set of books for learning begginers German. I miss read and thought it came with the CD. It did not. The book is usable withou6the CD to a degree. Great quality!

Good for classes
Its a really good book but only functions well if learning with someone who understand German. Like in a class setting or with a tutor.

Book is as described. Swiftly delivered as well.CD is not included.
Description is not very clear, that's why people are putting such low marks.So it would be a good idea to change item name - so that NO CD is obvious and people are not confused.I was not confused, I was not expecting CD, so I am absolutely happy with my purchase.

Poor advertisement for an otherwise good product. Needs fixing and customers need to be compensated

NOT a course pack - only the course book!!!
When the course book arrived I initially in thought it wasn't the course pack. There is a sticker on the front cover state it includes the audio, and a video. There is no info except at the END OF THE TEXTBOOK i found a link to access the audio. Should have been in the front of the book!!!
