Amazingly tough yet soft with excellent arm protection
Quality is great! Used them for the first time right after being delivered to cut back some 6+ft rose bushes that were in dire need of a trimming. Previously tried using my well padded leather ski gloves which worked okay but the thorns would easy puncture that soft leather and didn't go nearly as high as I needed. Immediately noticed how well the gauntlet protection went up the arm. If nothing else this is the single greatest feature. Fit was a little tight, but I caulk it up to these gloves may have been designed for a woman's hand. They fit snug and if I wasn't wearing a thinner spring type coat I suspect the cuffs going up wouldn't have been quite so tight. The leather is super soft which made me nervous at first but seriously my hands were well protected after two hours of truely testing them out. I did get about 2 small pokes through the gloves. I must have cut enough to create a new 6ft x 4ft bush. Even at the end when I was getting real careless and rough pulling out branches my hands barely felt anything but sill had excellent dexterity. I wouldn't hesitate recommending these to anyone else. If you have huge hands they may not fit comfortably. I have medium sized men's hands and they worked.

Bought a second pair!
I can’t say enough good about these gloves. I’m removing several years worth of invasives including sumac, multiflora with long spines, and vines. After hours not a single puncture. I bought XL as I have abnormally long hands and they protect almost past elbows. I haven’t used these for fine gripping so there are probably better gloves. But if you’re looking to protect your arms from scratches and sticks, these are the ones. I’m working with hand tools and they provide a good grip yet aren’t excessively heavy or stiff. Leather is good quality and appearance is pleasing. Doesn’t show dirt easily. Liked them so much I bought a second pair when my daughter was helping me. I think the ad is a little confusing—says one item but in fact is a pair that comes in an attractive gift box. You could put a ribbon on it and give it for Mother’s Day.

Good, solid, and useful
These are good, sturdy yet flexible gloves. They are an excellent length and provide protection from thorns and other unpleasant garden encounters - red velvet ants for example.

They're great against blackberry thorns
I was tired of trashing gloves from the hardware store in 2-3 days trying to clear invasive blackberries from my garden. I bought these and I don't think that either the blackberry or the holly can hurt them or me through them. They are wonderful! I have even used them to carry landscaping bricks and other rough/sharp/heavy things and they have not let me down. I like that they do not soak up water like other gloves I've used. I never know what size to buy in gloves. Have long fingers and very narrow hands and wrists. I always find that the small is not long enough in the fingers and the medium is too big around the wrist. I bought a medium and I wish I had bought a small.

Good and Comfortable
We use these a lot out here in the desert Southwest. Cactus and fruit trees with major thorns are no longer a concern. The long ‘arm’ is super good protection as well. Comfortable to wear with good finger flexibility.

Has 2XL size that is great! Hard to find size. Soft & flexible gloves. Great protection to my elbow
Fantastic gauntlet 2 X.L. cowhide gloves! Not many have that large a size. I'm 6'3" with long arms and the gloves protect almost up to my elbow. Our Meyer lemon tree has beautiful fruit but VERY MEAN thorns. These gloves are the perfect protection from those thorns. Not a cheap brand but worth the money for a great gauntlet glove. I harvested many lemons today. Thanks.

Great protection against weeds and thorns
Have been doing really hard yard work with them and only very few times I could feel a thorn break through. But more than that, they’ve been great protection against poison ivy, I developed an allergy only where I didn’t wear the gloves. And they look great. Great product!

Safe from brambles and thorns in these.
Bought these for clearing a back garden full of brambles and untouched for 20 years. These undoubtedly saved my hands and forearms many times. Unreservedly recommend.

Hole in fingertip after 3 wearings
I purchased these gloves to do yard work. I waited almost 4 weeks for them to be delivered. I received them May 17, 2018 and wore them over the May long weekend. By Sunday there was already a hole in the finger tip of the glove. For the price I thought I would have years of wear.

Well stitched just not as thick leather as I believe the quality should be
Neither rose nor salmonberry bush thorns are prevented from sticking your hands while using as the ones from Lee Valley are. Not send back but wouldn’t order again these particular gloves.
