No that is not possible and highly unsafe to attempt..but you can use it on another person if you have use of only one arm and are desperate..its very difficult on carpeting... Tested it with my two brothers totaling almost 325 pounds. Very easy to "jack" the person up, don't waste money on an electric one. My brother and I are able to use this lift easier than the people at the hospital could use their expensive one. The boom was able to fit into the car (kia Sportage) and pick her right up. Wheels are very smooth.
