This man and his band, need no introduction. Holly is a true icon of modern music that needs to be part of any self respecting music collection. 3 discs and 54 tracks of timeless music. Review: The best - 54 songs of simple, brilliant rock nโ roll. Stunning vocals, guitar, production, and pace. All other instruments are fantastic. The songs arenโt long but feel long enough. Thereโs much more clarity than on some of Elvisโ songs. Holly tragically died very young but his influence is staggering. McCartney saw him play in England and almost instantly became a lifelong super fan. Springsteen worships him. John Mellencamp said the music on the Beatlesโ first three albums copies the Cricketsโ style. I bought this for under $12 on desertcart and itโs still around that price. The discs come in a cardboard package and are slipped into separate sleeves. The sleeves donโt have tops and the discs can partially leak out so you need to be careful. Thereโs a nice write up about Holly and his music. There are a few pictures of the great man but none of his band. Owning these songs is a must for any rock music fan who appreciates greatness, what it was like at the beginning, and whatโs greatly influenced a large amount of incredible rock music. A huge bargain at this price. Be cool and own these songs. Review: 3 CDs of the Very Best of Buddy! - A sweeping collection of one of rock and roll's finest! I'm a Buddy Holly partisan, no question. I consider Buddy Holly & The Crickets to be the best of the 1950s rock and roll bands. (The Beatles were the best of the 1960s; The Ramones the best of the 1970s; and after that, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Best rock LP would have to be The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. As you can see, I love great songs, rockin' songs with heady melodies, with room for a beautiful ballad.) High points for the packaging of this set. I love details like making the tops of the CDs look like little 45s. All this at a bargain price? Well, all right!

Great collection!
Just received this 3-disc set yesterday! I have to say I am so glad I did not pay attention to the negative reviews! No, this isnโt the stereo or whatever format we are now used to, but it sounds just like the recordings we heard way back when! I am listening to it on my good Bluetooth speaker that starts with a B (not sure I can put a name brand here) and am Having fun dancing around the house! For the price you will not be disappointed!

Buddy Holly was one of many of my favorite Rock musicians of the 50s and 60s
Buddy Holly was one of many of my favorite Rock musicians of the 50s and 60s , and I am sure that Buddy Holly and the Crickets would have had more Hits , if it had not been for his , Ritchie Valens , and the Big Boppers untimely deaths . Buddy Holly unique way of coming up with Lyrics for his and the Crickets Hits , he was one of the best at writing Rock music to fit him and the Crickets Rock music interest .

Oldies but Goodies for a friend
Ordered these 3 CD's for a friend who is confined in a nursing facility. He's a major Buddy Holly fan and loves them.

When I bought this I only knew a few hits. This collection really shows off Buddy's range and his immense talent as a singer, song-writer and guitarist. In addition to Buddy Holly, this collection also gives you an appreciation for The Crickets, Niki Sullivan, Joe B. Mauldin and Jerry Allison. There are also songs in this collection written by Paul Anka, Bob Montgomery and Sonny West (to name a few) as well as several others. You will have to look up who wrote what as it does not say, but it's worth doing. I've really enjoyed learning the history of each song. Bottom line, Buddy Holly could not screw up a song. Even if it's not the genre you are used to, he pretty much hits everything out of the ballpark so it's all worth listening to.

Geeat music.
Bought for my 16 year old guitar playing grandson. I wanted him to hear the music of the man who pretty well invented rock groups and rock and roll. My grandson loves the CD.
