They are comfortable on my sons feet and they bend well then he runs unlike his Carter sandals that are very solid bottomed and he tends to trip a lot with those. They seem to run small though. My son is currently in a size 5 toddler but I wanted these to last him all summer so I bought a 5.5 in these and they just fit him. His toes are at the end and because they have that lip over the toe he will most likely grow out of them before summer ends. I would say go up at least a full size if your kid is nearing the end of their current size.
