Differin Restorative Night Moisturizer

I started pairing Differin Restorative Nightly Moisturizing Cream w/ Differin Gel to use nightly. I was using Differin Gel w/ another nightly moisturizer (sensitive skin) Ive used forever & wasn't tackling the extreme dryness Differin Gel causes. Since adding the Differin Moisturizer Cream its been 100% better on dryness, redness, and irritation! Took about 2 weeks to actually see improvement (see pics). It says may also purge some new pimples to surface at beginning. Im in my 40's and have adult cystic acne. Its pretty bad & hormone derived. Used prescription creams & oral meds for many years. My dermatologist recommended I switch to Differin Gel at night & a prescription compound antibiotic cream in morning, along w/ continued Sprinolactone. I ALWAYS use Elta MD tinted sunscreen SPF 44 also to avoid sun irritations as well. I hope after 6 months my cystic areas are no longer resurfacing, but so far Im very pleased w/ this product. If a recurring cyst starts to surface (I have very deep areas that will resurface) it goes away in few days & easy to coverup without pain or redness in that area. My skin is tightening & younger looking w/ less wrinkles as a great plus also! This product is not for all types of acne. So I'd ask a dr if recommended. It used to be Rx only. I highly encourage also pairing w/ the Differin Nightly Moisturizer Cream to reduce the side effects from the Differin gel which is going to occur w/ this product guaranteed! I do not want to use generic accutane which has very high risks to liver & is really all that is left after this regimen per my dermatologist.

This works great for dehydrated skin. Dry winters plus tretinoin use have made my face like a desert and nothing has helped much to reverse it, until this. I had already switched back to Differin gel from tretinoin as my face tolerates it better, but have been using it only on the breakout prone areas (forehead, nose, and chin), while trying to repair the moisture barrier on my cheeks with tons of moisturizer, occlusives, oils, etc. I decided to try this lotion and was blown away! It was the first moisturizer I've tried during this process that actually has worked! It makes my face actually feel moisturized and comfortable after one application instead of disappearing. It has a great texture that is smooth without being sticky or heavy. No noticeable fragrance and no irritation. It feels very soothing. It also seems to have some occlusive properties. I do layer this at night with Cetaphil moisturizing cream (green lid) and sea buckthorn oil, but the Differin moisturizer is great on its own for daytime. I highly recommend this as a daytime lotion and night time standalone or base lotion for dehydrated skin or damaged moisture barrier from retinoids. Great stuff!! My new holy grail.

My Son has acne prone skin. He’s been using Differin gel for some time & has found success in it eliminating his acne & keeps it under control. He would use CeraVe PM Moisturizer which is a lightweight moisturizer & is nice but I saw this & thought it would help more. It surely does! This moisturizer is very moisturizing. It has little scent to it. In applying it it smooths out nicely on his face with no additional irritation on top of the gel. I love that it has Hyaluronic Acid in it. That ingredient makes skin so healthy. Pairing up the gel & the moisturizer was a good choice & I’m glad I made it. For the bottle I received & the price I paid it’s well worth the cost. I use subscribe & save so I save a little more $ & will order at my convenience. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is using the Differin Gel!

I bought this set first. I love the cleanser! The .5 oz 1% Differin didn’t last long because I was hesitant to put it on thin when I was just out of the shower. Plus I put it on twice per day for the first week. It killed the little tube fast! The 1% & 2% dark spot both remove acne scars, flat moles, suntan stains & some wrinkles. I’ve been using it on my face, neck, arms & hands. I don’t use it every day. It seems to keep working a few days after application. And definitely do put it on ASAP after showering. It spreads a lot thinner & uses a lot less compared to dry skin. Like they say, using more doesn’t make a difference. Be very careful when washing. And definitely use the differin gentle cleanser. Exfoliating can make it very painful. Definitely wash at least once per day. Twice if you leave the house. Some days I had a lot of sloughing. Washing twice per day kept me from looking hideous. 😉 I tried the moisturizer with sunscreen. It’s good. I only used the nightmare moisturizer a couple times, so far I’m not a fan. (Separate purchase.) My dermatologist recommended Differin 2%. She said to not use it in summer/sunny weather because it can cause staining. She said to use sunscreen if going out. If I was starting over & not wanting to buy everything to start, I’d just buy the 2% dark spot remover, (per my dermatologist,) and the gentle cleanser. My skin is getting so smooth & soft that it barely needs moisturizer. It was feeling dry right after I used moisturizer so it is making a huge difference.

I am so surprised at how much I like this moisturizer. I worked in derm for way too many years, but this was several years ago now. I used Differin when it was by prescription only, along with tons of other OTC and high-end products. I was running out of my Tatcha AND my Josie Maran Milk serum at the same time and didn't want to spend the money to repurchase. I had tried Neutrogena Hydroboost, which wasn't bad - ok for daytime use during the summer, I just wanted something more. So I decided to try Differin Restorative Night Moisturizer. There's no scent - good or bad - it's just there. Great texture. It gets absorbed but you still know you put it on, but not obnoxiously there. Does that make sense? I hate the moisturizers that you put on, then you have no idea where they went five minutes later. Why bother? Anyway... I've had no reaction, no irritation and I've been doing all sorts of harsh stuff in an attempt to rid myself of some melasma. Ie: Differin, Exuviance Peels, Cerave Resurfacing Serum, Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid and this moisturizer keeps my skin in check! I'm not sure I'll go back to the high-end stuff. Side note: This was delivered September 7th. It is now October 28th. I use one pump for daytime and one pump at night for face and neck and I still have a decent amount left. AND if you're using this in the am under makeup you still need sunscreen and you'll need to allow some time between applying this and makeup. ***UPDATE DECEMBER 2021*** I have now purchased this five times. I still use this regularly and love it.

I have only used this for one night, but I am amazed at the results. The cream did not sting and quickly sank into my skin. I woke up to skin that was hydrated, not oily, and the ongoing redness on my cheeks has dramatically gone down. My skin looks happy and healthier. All this from just using this product over just one night. I feel like I have discovered the Holy Grail of nighttime moisturizers. Purchasing the daytime moisturizer now.

My face got really dry when starting the differin gel. So did my 15 yr old’s. This moisturizer helped me so much! Cleared up the dry skin in like two days and can still use it with the differin applied. It didn’t however help my daughter and her dry skin got worse. Had her switch back to cervave. But I definitely recommend it. UPDATE: I used this for a few months now and last month after applying to my neck (didn’t normally do that area) I broke out in a severe rash. A Red burning rash! I didn’t think it was the moisturizer cause it hadn’t happen before so I kept using it. Well a month later and my neck burns so bad I cried at night. I stopped the moisturizer and my neck rash finally started healing. WHAT THE HECK?!?!

I have very sensitive skin and this works great for me. I use it twice a day and it still lasts me more than a month. Doesn’t leave a sticky feel or oily feel at all. I definitely recommend. Only moisturizer I’ll use!
