Great pencil
This is a great pencil! It's sleek, comfortable to hold, and lightweight. It's quickly become one of my favorite pencils to draw with and to write with. The shake function works, but you have to give it an aggressive shake to get the lead to advance forward. But regardless, it's smooth and works well.

Good pencil
So I've been journaling with this for a bit now and I really like the weight and balance of the pencil. The double knock action is superb and it's been reliable on every type of lead I've stuffed in it.

Another Zebra capable of entering a horse race.
I love this Mech. It seems like they took a page strait out of the (Uni) playbook with this one. Not only with the function, but with the design also. Zebra pencils always feel like they took the time to make sure lead extrusion components and needle tips are fitted with precision and pride. This pencil is no exception with its build. So letโs get to the run down. This mech carries enough wait to feel like it wasnโt just slapped together with the cheapest plastic on the market. Now itโs not balanced, but like I have said in the past, balanced Mechs are terribly overrated. The metal components used on the grip, and the metal internals used in the shake mechanism, Makes this pencil nose heavy. But itโs not a bad nose heavy, it feels more intentional, more planned. And while holding this pencil in hand, your fingers are almost drawn to the grip, wanting to take hold. They added an almost O-ring effect on the grip that feels great. The locking mechanism on this pencil is just above the grip and feels secure, however is a bit tight to get turned into position, but that isnโt necessarily a bad thing. You wouldnโt want a terribly loose switch, because you know once the switch gets worn in, it will loosen up on its own. And if it were to be loose from the factory, it would eventually just get to the point of the mechanism spinning back and forth with the slightest brush over. As for the tip and needle, the needle is fitted very well and sized perfectly for a snug fit lead with no excessive play. The tip head is oddly almost the same design as the โTombow Monoโ shaker that I recently reviewed. And the shaker in this Zebra feels as nice, or even better than the one in the Tombow Mono design. However, like I have also stated in past reviews, that even though I dig (Shakers), Iโm not a huge fan of using them. However, this Mech is the โTect 2wayโ, meaning it has 2 ways of lead extrusion. It has the shaker, and the original push clutch that can be used. That is where this one really gets my vote. I like that old school push clutch. And the clutch in this Mech feels smooth and firm. I will add that this mech, like the Tombow mono, also has the same hybrid mix of a tubular and conical tip design. And I guess if you were gonna have to use a conical tip, atleast this one has some features of tubular also. The long needle tip really helps make it better though. The only issue I found with this mech is while not actually pushing the clicker/clutch, the clicker feels a bit loose. It has a lateral wiggle to it that makes it feel โlackingโ in prestige, or just not thought out as much as it should have been. Less fitting. I mean, I hate to use the word cheap, cause itโs obvious that they really took the time out to design it and even added style and shape to the clicker head, but the fitting is just not on par with the rest of this pencil and itโs qualities. It does seem to work good, but I did want to have it stated on the record that this could have been better. As for the lead extrusion, I calculated it to around 0.4mm per click. Thatโs a nice advancement length for me personally. I know some people prefer a 0.5 to 0.6mm pc, but with too much advancement for each click, it tends to get harder to fine tune the exact length wanted because of individuals with different taste. I know there are Mechs out there like the brand (OHTO) that have fixed this issue by adding an adjustable advancement switch, That allows each person to set the lead extrusion specific to what they want it to be. But anyways, this Mech feels real nice in my hand. Yes, itโs a bit thicker than I normally like in my pencils, but that grip is very alluring. And in no way feels uncomfortable. So would I suggest this pencil to others? Yes, itโs a great pencil. It has a design shape thatโs all it own. It lays a line very smooth and doesnโt feel like itโs overstepping. The price isnโt terrible and is about on par with Mechs in the same category. As a collector, Iโm happy to keep this in my arsenal. And as a side note, if you donโt know anything about the Zebra name, you should check out a cheap Zebra Mech that only costs around 4 or 5 dollars called the (Zebra M301). It is one of the best โlow costโ Mechs of all times. That pencil alone is enough to keep the Zebra name in good graces. Hope this review helps out in some way.

Incredible Design and Quality!
It is perhaps the most technological mechanical pencil I have ever had, the quality and functionality is truly incredible. I want to buy another, one to keep in my office and the other in my home's studio.

Expensive but quality.
Good. Definitely not worth $16.50 on jetpens, don't think it's worth $10 either but it's pretty nice for $5.11 (price I got it) What I like is not the shaker but the button to feed the lead out is amazingly soft and easy to press. Grip is also great, not sure to swap out more Kuru toga for it. Edit: After using it for a couple of hours, I have troubles recommending it even $5, The metal grip is pretty much useless due to the orange rubber strips which aren't even that comfortable. The metal grip is insanely heavy (significantly more than the Kuru toga roulette) with an extremely light upper creating a really unbalanced, heavy, clunky and immobile writing feel. Alongside this, lack of feedback when writing makes it hard to appreciate this pencil.

There are many pencils..but this may rule them all.
Wow...this pencil feels great to write and draw with. Even my boss was like, "wow...that feels great to write with." and he picked it up just to write out a plan. Gotta keep my eye on the pencil now...ya know? Anyhoot...check it out...you can choose colors for the barrel! Oh yeah! Ok, I am excited about that because I draw and use different thicknesses and lead types. In turn, it's so cool (if not awesome) to be able to instinctively grab the pencil I need by a glance (color recognition). I know that's not a feature everyone looks at...but when you are in a creative flow....it's less distracting to search for the 4B or 2B you need.

Great product. Well constructed. The only pens and pencils I used in high school back in the 90's and I'm happy to see they're still superior quality.
