The combination of the Florida summer heat / humidity and working outside doing renovations (from roofing to carpentry to painting) means you either have an incredibly stinky shoe and a damp foot at the end of the day, or are wearing something that doesn’t provide adequate protection. I thought: “There has to be a better way!”. And I was right, and it’s this. Took me a while to get there though. Save yourself my trials and tribulations by trying these out first.First I tried the Crocs and the hospital grade Birkenstocks and similar slip ons- just not safe enough. Then I tried the “garden shoe”, better traction, more robust but no breathability and stank to high heavens. Then I went the repurposed old running shoe route, not terrible but not ideal. I was wrecking pairs of shoes at breakneck speed.Then I stepped on a nail that went straight through my running shoes and halfway through my foot (it was bad) and I said this has got to stop I need a more long term solution.Then I thought well I’m just going to have to get some ankle height timberlands and call it a day. But then I came across these.This combines the breathability, traction, flex, safety and sleekness I’ve been looking for. Easy to slip on and off, but not too easy. Steel toe doesn’t get in the way of flexibility. The nail resistant sole looks great, but I haven’t attempted to jump on any nails to test it... and won’t be.Even my girlfriend really likes them, which is more than I can say for the last dozen pairs of work shoes I’ve had. If she had it her way those Birkenstock clogs would’ve been set on fire a long time ago.So, everybody wins here. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Skateboarder *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2019* I asked the owner if I could use them for skateboarding and they do work and never rip. They're heavy for the typical skate shoes which also puts more force on the board. I feel like it could break my board, but nothing has happened yet. They are comfortable but it's different from regular skate shoes and takes time to get used to. The bottom of the shoes are flat, but I still kind of felt a sole gap most likely due to the weight distribution. Otherwise, these are really nice for skateboarding because regular skate shoes rip after 2 months and once they rip the functionality of feel of the board changes. These won't rip and therefore are constant in the feel I always have of the board. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good enough! *by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2020* 70hr work week down and these shoes are pretty damn good and look good. As a mechanic in a hot shop they’ve helped a lot with sweaty feet. When I stand in front of the big fans we have I can feel the air flowing right through them. BUT the quality of the shoe isn’t that amazing I mean for the price I did get what was expected but I don’t see them lasting more than three months. They took a little getting used to because the shoe is so light but having the heavier toe felt awkward at first. The plastic lock on the bungee laces doesn’t really stay tight, I see myself having to replace that soon. Also, order insoles at the same time, I had to go out the next day to replace them, they’re super cheap and thin. But for now I’m happy.
