Are these the products that are filled with sand and you put in a pot of water and boil til it gets hot and wrap in a towel

The product directions state: Place "HOTPAK" in a stainless steel pan, cover with water and heat to 160 degrees F. Allow to remain in hot water for 20 min. before use. Wrap in layer of terry towel & vary layer as needed. Steam will penetrate towel. Store in freezer for long term storage.I recommend them highly.H.S.-Carlisle,PA.

Can these be heated in microwave?

Yes, but it dries out a bit. It’s supposed to be moist heating pad. I boil it in a big pot, but if im lazy i toss it in a microwave for 5 mins, and it works perfectly either way. Just make sure you keep it in a pot full of water so it doesn’t become dry. This is a life saver for me, one of the best things I ever bought.

do the hot pack bring covers

Not unless ordered. Don't rely on any covers but, always wrap any hot steam pack with a terry cloth towel as necessary. The hot steam pack is used by thousands of physical therapy services.
