Baxton Studio Mid-Century Masterpieces Club Chair, Brown

After reading all the reviews, I sort of doubted this product's quality, assembling it, and the delivery. BUT, now that it arrived yesterday on August 28th (Tuesday), I am SUPER happy and FULLY content. Everything looks and feels far, far, far better in person. The pictures do this product no justice. It came in less than a week with the free-shipping method order to Sacramento, California. It comes in two boxes: each the size of a large pillow. Be very careful when you cut open the 2 boxes, tapes, and straps. Because you might cut into the woods or cushions. Proceed with mind and patience, NOT excitement and haste! That's my philosophy. I looked at the directions (1 sheet with pictures & nothing else: super vague) and assembled everything within 5 minutes EASILY, and I have ZERO mechanical or handyman experience. I'm just 1 hell of a super brilliant genius! It comes with 5 parts: two wooden handles, 1 long front wooden bar, and two cushions (seat and back-rest). To put this together, you need to lay it on the cardboard or carpet, in order to not damage it. Make sure the medal bracket's ("Bran Nut," according to the drawing) plain side (only 2 sides) are inserted inward into the wooden drill hole on the large wooden piece that holds the two arm handles together. Thus, the other side of the medal bracket with the horizontal ridge indented into it (in order to stick a flat-head screw driver) is sticking outward toward you, where you can see it, once this is placed into the long wooden bar ("Apron," according to the drawing). After this difficult and confusing part of the instruction, the rest is plain common sense. If you buy the couch along with the chair, the instructions and parts for the couch are IDENTICAL to the chair. The only difference is that the cushions on the couch are a lot larger than the chair. But other than that, everything else is identical, exactly. Super genius of the designer (s)! The chair's large enough, as you can see me sitting on it in the picture. I'm 5'6" & 140 lbs. It is low to the ground, lower than my wooden coffee table (as show in the picture), which makes it easier to get off of. This is "dark brown." But to me, it's basically black. I honestly can't tell the difference, even with the blinds wide open and in broad daylight! It's black, and it's happening! There is no possibility of the cushion seat falling out. That's impossible and stupid, as some reviewers claim! There're two large, half-dollar-sized-coin bracket that are pre-attached to the bottom of the cushion seat to prevent such an incident. The only way the cushion seat can fall out is if you're jumping on the very edge of the seat. But who does that, other than a monkey? From the back rest to the front end of the cushion seat, it's a tiny bit of a stretch or distance. However, do not buy pillows. That's hideous. Always leave things in their original condition: as plain & simple as possible. In my world, everything is black & white: That's the color of "conviction" or "confidence." This is a solid, sturdy chair. It should last for decades to come (the frame's forever & cushions: at least 5 years). It's definitely not for lounging around, but for formal guests visiting and conversing for a couple of hours. I would definitely purchase this set again in a heart beat! I love how formal and sophisticated it looks for the chair. I bought my Ikea KLIPPAN 2-seater couch for nearly $400 in 2013! Here, I get a 3 seater-couch & club chair for just about the same price as the Ikea Klippan! I would not get the Braxton 2-seater couch. It's not worth it--better to get the 3-seater instead! I freaking love, love Amazon! Great job, guys! In a couple of months, I'll order another identical club chair! I am very, very happy: I did my research--reading the reviews multiple times over fully and entirely, staring at all the photos for hours per day, shopping around for almost 2 weeks online and in person. Success is a system, and it only goes in this order: 1. mind 2. patience. 3. conviction. This Baxton Studio Mid-Century Masterpieces couch and club chair: 1. match 2. fit and 3. in original condition (plain & simple design); that's my philosophy! This chair is my pride and joy. I'll take good care of it. Wipe it down easily. Make sure I pick it up and not drag it. I love to take care of things, and that's why things love me in return. This can be said the same to human beings! Lol. Be grateful, not hateful. Be humble, don't stumble. Thank you Braxton company and Amazon! I freaking love my life!

First of all— my original shipment arrived with wooden components broken. Amazon IMMEDIATELY reshipped the chair!! Even before receiving old chair, now THATS customer service. This Mid Century Modern Chair was easy to put together andbis sturdy enough for me. I am 5’9, 165 lbs and was very comfortable sitting in the chair. Looks less ‘shiny’ and more quality leather- like. Great buy!

This chair looks better than expected. Not as shiny as the picture which is nice. The only criticism is that the seat and back are not bolted together, so when people lean forward to get up or move when they're sitting, the bottom falls out from underneath.

I bought this chair on a gamble. It's easy to dall in love with something online, but you get it home and its not what you want. Thats somewhat true for me. I needed to replace my cotton sofa as my dogs used it as a chew toy when I wasnt looking and, it sucked hair up like crazy. I could never get all of the hair off, which was to be expected with the weave it had. I wanted leather or vinyl - you can just wipe the hair off! Although I measured, I am glad I ourchased the single chair before the set, because it ended up being much lower to the ground than I thought it would be. Otheriwse it was perfect - very sturdy, the colors were perfect and as expected, and the wood has a nice soft feel to it and doesn't look fake. Instead of keeping it my living room, I put it in the bedroom where All the furniture is real wood and it blends right in! I almost bought a second one, but that would overcrowd the room. I definitely like the brand. *the seat bottom does come out, but so long as you are not sliding into it, it stays put.

I got the chair and it was sent with no hardware to assemble it. Rather then just sending the small bag of hardware, I have to repack the entire chair and send it back for another chair. PITA....don't bother unless you want another project other then simply putting the chair together.

The chair looks great but it was missing part of the hardware. I am going to have to go buy several screws because it only came with 4 instead of 6.

Purchased two of these and a couch of the same set for my office. They look great, are extremely comfortable for the style they are. Strongly recommended them to anyone wanting some quality furniture. Assembly was a breeze and once complete are very sturdy!
