Review: Works well, not particularly quiet - I had an old cheap booster fan that failed, so was looking for something of higher quality. This fan looked good so I bought it and installed it today. It feels very high quality and I really liked the way the bracket is installed first, then you install the fan into the bracket. Makes it easy to get everything aligned and mounted. On high speed the CFM into the bedroom is tripled, and on low about doubled, so that is good, and somewhat better than my old cheapie booster fan which about doubled the CFM. I was also hoping for a reduction in noise compared to my old fan, but it is about the same. The noise sounds less unpleasant (somewhat lower pitched), but still pretty annoying. I may try going to a speed control if I can reduce the flow and still keep the bedroom cool. In fairness to S&P, they suggest long runs of flexible duct or duct mufflers to tame the noise, and I have done neither. Bottom line is I'm not sure this fan was worth the extra money, but is is a pretty good unit, thus the 4 stars. 7/14/22 update - runs a lot and still works fine

**Q: Does anyone know the difference between the TD 150 and TD 150S models?**
A: 150 is the standard model - pretty quiet but does have some normal fan (to be expected) vibration. The 150S has added dampening and acoustical insulation that makes it transmit less sound and vibration. What you buy should be determined by where you are going to place the fan. If it is remote, as in a basement or attic, the standard model may be fine. If you are at all concerned about sound, then you may want to go for the upgrade. I suspended a standard model on some urethan foam supports in my basement and am happy. It drives air through a plenum in my wood stove and is a sweet solution. Also do a little research on volume delivered (CFM) to get the right model for what you are doing. Good luck.

A: The speed is variable

Either buy a 3-speed Fan Speed Switch (Capacitor/Resistor)
or the one night they have in their brochure that old school looking one with the solid-state italicized like it's new
"Vari-Speed solid state"

I had an old cheap booster fan that failed, so was looking for something of higher quality. This fan looked good so I bought it and installed it today. It feels very high quality and I really liked the way the bracket is installed first, then you install the fan into the bracket. Makes it easy to get everything aligned and mounted. On high speed the CFM into the bedroom is tripled, and on low about doubled, so that is good, and somewhat better than my old cheapie booster fan which about doubled the CFM. I was also hoping for a reduction in noise compared to my old fan, but it is about the same. The noise sounds less unpleasant (somewhat lower pitched), but still pretty annoying. I may try going to a speed control if I can reduce the flow and still keep the bedroom cool. Great fan !!! Works a lot better than the ones found at Lowes or Homedepot but also at a 3x higher price. -- Now heating season and increased room temps by 4-5 degrees over the wimpy ones from above stores. Expecting similar for cooling season. (????)
