Normally I wouldn't take the time to review something like these- but they have truly amazed me and I just have to say something. They are AWESOME. I have a 3 car garage with a side entry and rear entry door. I spend a lot of time working in the garage and for years have used paint buckets to hold the doors open. Ghetto for sure I know. If I dared to forget or skipped the buckets in a hurry the slightest breeze would slam one or both the doors. In fact the side entry door slammed so hard once it broke the porch light mounted on the wall next to the door. I was on Amazon looking for something else one day and it randomly showed me this product. Honestly I had never heard of magnetic door catches till I saw the ad for these. I had tried the little wedges but they damaged the rubber seals on the bottom of the doors and weren't quite tall enough so they didn't hold the doors firmly anyway. These magnetic stops are great for a few reasons. They look sleek and modern. They are super easy to install. (I used the foam tape and screws for extra strength.) They hold the doors firmly and with authority, and they release very easily. My doors are metal so the provided screws did not work for me- no biggie I just used #10 self tappers on the door side and #10 modified truss head 1 1/2" screws on the wall side through the 5/8 sheetrock and into the bottom plate of the walls. No one in the reviews seems to mention it but these are spring loaded and I found you don't have to just yank the door to release the magnet. With the door held open if you give it a short rapid push even further open the magnet releases with no effort at all. Seriously- just a quick short press on the door and it pops right open. I love it. Such a simple product under 10 bucks for 2 has made me very happy and works awesome. I feel silly for not looking into these years ago. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

This inexpensive door accessory is way better than I expected. I am confined to a wheelchair, so getting in and out of my apartment can be a hassle due to the big, heavy front door that is difficult to keep open when I'm trying to wheel myself outside. This handy little doorstop serves two purposes, and it works exceptionally well at both. It keeps my door from slamming into the wall, but the strong magnetic function makes it easy to let the door hold itself open when I am trying to go outside. Then a gentle push toward the wall on the door releases the magnet, and the door gently closes once I am outside. Amazing product, and getting 2x at such a low cost is a nice bonus.

I had no idea magnetic door stops were available until I noticed a common door stop missing the spring attachment in an employee's office at work. I told her I'd get a new door stop, and while looking I saw these. She often likes to keep her door open and out of the way against the wall, so these looked like they might be perfect. I ordered a pack of two, and they arrived the next day. I brought my tools to work to drill holes and drive the screws. The installation was quick and easy. After the first one was installed, another employee commented that she would like one on a conference room door that would not stay fully open and needed to have a chair in front of it to keep it from closing. A few minutes later, the second door stop was installed for that door, just in time for a scheduled meeting. The door stops work perfectly. There is a plunger with an internal spring on the plate attached to the door to absorb the impact of the door opening into the extension attached to the wall. The extension houses the magnet which is strong enough to hold the the door open when it is gently placed near the wall. But if the door is allowed to even lightly hit the extension, the plunger on the door will depress and rebound, and the magnet will not be strong enough to hold the door open. I consider that the perfect balance of magnetism. Everyone at the office loves the door stops. And they are not expensive. I expect to get several more. The only minor issue I have with the stops is that the plate that attaches to the door has three exposed Phillips screw heads. That's not a big problem at the office, but I am not eager to have that appearance in my home. I hope there is something the designers can do to not only make these very functional but also a bit more attractive on the door. They just need that slight improvement.

I bought this because my bathroom door never stays open and constantly swings shut while I’m getting ready, which was getting really annoying. This definitely solved that problem right away. Installation was simple, and once it’s in place, it holds the door open really securely. Honestly, stronger than I expected. What I liked: •Keeps the door fully open without drifting •Strong magnetic hold (great if you have airflow that moves doors) •Clean, simple look that blends in well •Easy to install What to consider: •The magnet is very strong—almost too strong •It takes a bit of effort to pull the door loose when you want to close it •Might not be ideal if you want something quick/easy to release For my situation, it works, but I do find myself having to give the door a firm pull to unlatch it every time. Final thoughts: If you need something that will definitely keep your door open, this does the job really well. Just be aware that the strong magnet can make it a little inconvenient when you’re trying to close the door quickly.

Magnetic Door Stop: $11.98 at the time of review So, a doorstop is not usually the kind of thing that I would write a review for. I mean, they either work, or they don't, right? On top of that, as of the time that I'm writing this review, there are over 800 ratings on this doorstop. All of that having been said, though, I was impressed enough with this doorstop to want to write a review. So here we go. I'm gonna be honest, I don't really have anything negative to say about this. So it's just going to be a list of things that I liked. First and foremost, this convenient kit for a really reasonable price (only about $12 bucks at the time of review) comes with everything you'll need to get it installed in about five to ten minutes. You have the doorstop, the magnetic plate (for attaching to the door), two adhesive pads, screws, and even drywall anchors. And speaking of installation, it really was super quick. I was a little skeptical, but I opted for the adhesive pads in Lou of using screws. I didn't feel good about putting holes into my baseboard and door. I figured in a worst-case scenario, I might have to do that anyhow, if the adhesive didn't work. That being said, the adhesive, works. I mean, like, it really WORKS. I follow the basic rule of attaching long-term adhesive to something: use a moderate amount of pressure for about 30 to 60 seconds once you've placed the adhesive down on the surfaces do you want to adhere. To make sure the magnetic strike plate and doorstop lined up, I just put the adhesive on each end (where it belongs), then attached the strike plate to the magnet as it normally would in use. Then I lined it up, where I wanted it, and pushed the door against it. The end result was a perfectly lined up doorstop. And I didn’t even have to drill anything! As of this review, I've had this doorstop installed for just under three months. The magnets are really strong, and the adhesive is showing no signs of weakening. This thing has been great. This is a super easy five stars out of five for me. I totally order this over again. In fact, I might do just that as there is another door in our house that needs a doorstop replaced.

These door stoppers are perfect! They helped me so much because I have several doors at home that never stay open, and I always had to find different ways to keep them open. Now, with these stoppers, it’s so easy! They are very easy to install and don’t damage the doors or the walls. I absolutely love them! I 100% recommend this product. It makes life so much easier!

Works perfectly! Super easy installation using the sticky pads provided. Has a spring action so you don’t slam it into the holder. Very nice quality. Holds door open very well.

[update] I lowered my rating to 3 stars. Way less than a year and the 2 I had in place both had the same issue. First, the part that sticks to the door came off. Ok, at least they have screw holes, so I had some really short screws and screwed them into the door. Just a few days later, the vertical piece that sticks to the floor, both came off. These are on hardwood floors that are clean and smooth. They held up strong for months, but looks like the glue on ALL 4 pieces failed at the same time. There are no screw holes for the floor mounted piece, so I had to use some screws with washers to overlap the small flap on the bottom of the piece. That did the trick. I would recommend anyone who buys these to immediately use screws on this item. [original review] For year, I tried multiple different door stoppers for room with hardwood floors. They just don't hold as any form of dust on the floor makes them useless to stay in place, even the ones that are made of softer rubber. Solution: don't use something that requires mobility on the floor. I mounted the base on the floor with the included 2 sided sticky piece. Aligning the part that goes on the door was a little tricky to get it to line up right. You'll have to take the sticky tape of and stick the piece to the base then slide the door into place to stick to it and hold it there. If you try to line it up by sticking the piece to the door where you think it will match, even at an inch away, it will not be perfectly lined up. It works like a charm. I am so happy with this. The magnet is very strong that you need a little force to remove it, which is what I was looking for.

Works just like it shows in videos, magnet is quite strong. Installed in 10 minutes. I removed the old spring stopper and replaced it with the rod, then put the door side plate on the magnet and marked the holes for perfect alignment.

Very good magnetic connection. Easy to install. Heavier metal than expected
