Like most of the reviewers, we just had our roof replaced and we were in "Nail-City" (including 4" screws). The contractor did do a pretty good job but after running this magnet rake over the driveway and paver blocks all I can say is OMG! It was awesome running the rake and hearing the "click-click-click" of everything metal being picked up by the magnet! Amazing. It's a very goof feature to be able to adjust the height. I did set it on the highest and wondered if it would be effective but it certainly was. The quality of the handle is a little suspect as it moves around in its setting and gives you a "cheap" feel to it. The magnet and housing is quality. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to keep their floors free of metal items - a very good workshop clean up tool as well. Great investment - saves tires and nails in your boots or sneakers and maybe a trip to your Doctor.

I recently wrapped up a major project and this magnetic nail sweeper was an absolute lifesaver! After finishing up a construction job, I needed a fast and reliable way to clear the worksite of metal debris, especially nails and screws. This tool worked like a charm! I bought this product 3 years ago to pick up metal, like bottle caps, on the beaches in Grenada in the Caribbean. The product worked well but was a little too low for the uneven surface around the beaches and the wheels were a little too narrow to push or pull on the sand. BTW Pulling is much easier on the sand. So I put new wheels, a bit larger in diameter and I double them. I get pretty much the same power to pick up the metal and the wheels do not sink in the sand as much. When the bottle cap is encrusted in the grass, I just give it a twist my the plastic spade. Which I had to do anyway even before I replaced the wheels.

Works great! Used it for roofing nails in grass and limestone gravel driveway. Loud PLINLK PLINK PLINK of nails getting tucked up. Handle makes it incredibly EASY to drop all the nail at once! Only complaint is long pushing handle held on by only one bolt, so it is not solid, floppy. It needs another mounting bolt above or below

This is AMAZING!!! Worth every penny! Easy to put together and start finding metal!! My daughter and son in law inherited a really old dilapidated home!! The yard was full of nails screws etc . I bought this for them hoping it would assist in clearing the rather large yard! Omg, it picked up so much metal!!! One of the best finds on amazon! So glad they will be able to clean up the yard quicker than picking. Them up one nail/ screw at a time now!

I purchased the 24" neiko magnetic sweeper. The body is 24" long and overall length with wheels is 28". The build quality is actually much better than I anticipated. The handle on mine is made of decent steel tubing with a 16 gauge wall thickness, it attaches to the 14 gauge steel mounting bracket and is solid. The four magnets inside are very strong! I assembled it on my table saw and at one point I accidentally got it stuck to the steel top and I had one heck of a time getting it off. I set the wheels to their lowest setting because my garage/shop floor is heavily pitted from 35 years of road salt and abuse. But I was pleasantly surprised by how well this sweeper worked. I've attached two pictures showing the tiny metal pieces and the metal dust from grinding and plasma cutting it picked up in one quick pass. It even pulled metal particles out of the craters in my concrete floor. I just swept the floor yesterday and even vacuumed part of it. One pull of the release handle and everything fell into my trash can. Overall I am pleased with the build quality and how well it works for my application. My only caveat is the way you adjust the height of the wheels. You have to remove 8 small screws to pull out the end caps to access the head of the axle bolt. It's a tedious process but in the end it does work. It's important that my floor is clean so my dogs don't get metal slivers in their paws. In conclusion, I would have no problem buying this sweeper again and/or recommending it to family and friends.

If you get your home or garage roof replaced you need a magnetic sweeper. Contractors do not have the time to look for nails, etc. - they are running to the next job. Tire repair whether car, truck, lawn tractor, ATV, etc., is not cheap ($30 on average) and several nails will completely ruin a tire. I have not had any issues with the bolt that secures the handle as others have claimed, but that's easily remedied by drilling a hole through the handle and inserting a bolt. The magnet is strong enough to pick up roofing nails, roofing staples, and small fasteners as long as they are steel - magnets cannot pick up aluminum. I have found that the sweeper does a better and easier job by pulling instead of pushing. Just walk causally and do not force the magnet over clumps of grass. When the magnet picks up a nail you'll hear a distinctive "clink" on the housing. I stop and take the nails off of the magnet because thick or tall grass could dislodge the nails from the magnet. I do agree with others that the magnet release handle is very clunky and you could release items picked up by accident if you aren't careful. I secured the release handle so it doesn't move (I'll remove nails, etc., from magnet by hand). What I do not like is the fact that the sweeper did not come with washers for the wheels - you secure the wheels with a single nut and have to adjust the tightness. The only other issue is I wish the magnet had a height adjustment instead of relying on wheel height. The writeup states the sweeper has adjustable clearance space ranging from 3/4 to 1-1/2 inches - IT DOES NOT. I have found that the sweeper does a good job on short grass, on level gravel, and on concrete (it excels on concrete floors) but it has difficulty in tall grass or gravel driveways with dips and bumps. All in all it will work for you once you get used to it's short comings - and it's better than paying for tire repair. I have used several magnetic sweepers and none are perfect. You'll have to run this sweeper over the area several times to pick up everything. I give this sweeper three stars because it is average in quality and reliability.

Great size. It helped a lot after demo of a shed. It picks up all sorts of metal.

Tried the NEIKO 53418A 36-inch magnetic sweeper and it works great. Swept the area and collected nails effectively with no effort. The magnetic force is strong and covers a wide path. Very practical tool for any workshop or job site. Highly recommended.
