Excellent Game for 3 year olds
My 3 year old granddaughter loves all the Dora games even though she rarely watches the show. These are the only PS2 games she wants to play. The learning curve is gentle and the character doesn't "die" and have to start over. Toy Story and other childrens' games are brutal and too heavy on the action.Any Dora game is a slower-paced, challenging mix of learning and fun for toddlers.

Boring, even for a 3 year old.
I bought this for my 3 year old son because he loved playing the Dora Purple Planet game. He played this game for abut 2 hours - and a year later, he hasn't touched it since that first play. He told me it was boring. He didn't like that you had to stay on the path (unlike the Purple Planet where he could walk all over the place looking for things.)At the time we bought Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom, we also bought the Snow Princess game. He's only played that once as well. Same story - he got bored after about 2 hours of "staying on path."He's 4 now and already playing much higher-level games like Scooby-Doo. If your child is ok with just walking on a path during the entire game, then they might like it. But if they like free play, this is not the game for them.
