Great recipes and entertaining stories
This is the second copy I’ve bought — this time for my sister. I love the recipes in this book, and I’m also a fan of Kent’s YouTube videos; he’s entertaining and clearly knows how to cook. The recipes are easy, delicious, and crowd-pleasing, making this a fun book for anyone who enjoys good food and a bit of storytelling from the trail. Highly recommend for both fans and new cooks alike.

Delicious Recipes / Good Man
We fell in love with Kent Rollins the first time we met him. We have followed his career, watch all of his videos, have his cook books and cook his recipes. He is one of the most down to earth, good people we have ever known. His recipes are all delicious times 10! Any of Kent's books make a great gift! This spiral bound, hardback book is perfect for a senior cook as it opens flat and is easy to reference while your busy recreating Kent's recipes. This book has Kent's sourdough recipe, sourdough pancakes, biscuits et al.

Easy recipes
Love the book. Love the stories and recipes. Can't wait to make the Mexican Tortilla Lasagna. I rarely find a cookbook that gets me this excited but I love camp cooking and southwestern food.

Interesting stories, great photos but apparently cowboys don't eat steak.
The stories and pictures are great. I've had family members sit down to pick something out for dinner and end up reading some of the stories. The recipes are fairly easy and don't involve strange ingredients that I need to buy at a special store. I've already made several of them and they were well received by our family, from our 11 year old to my 86 year old mother-in-law. He has recipes for breakfast, lunch, appetizers, dinners and desserts so he covers all the bases. The disappointment and the reason for only 4 stars is that there are no steak recipes at all (unless you count chicken fried steak). The picture on the cover shows him grilling steaks but you won't find that in the book. I first saw him on Grill Masters talking about how many steaks he has grilled but based on his book, he never has. Second disappointment is that he only has three chicken recipes. He does include a recipe for Cornish Game Hens but hamburger and port are his staples. The third disappointment has to do with cast iron cookware. According to his book and pictures he does most if not all of his cooking using cast iron skillets and Dutch ovens. I was looking for more cast iron recipes and thought he would have some interesting ones, but most of his recipes don't involve cast iron. The first line for his Brown Sugar-infused Pork Loin is "Lightly butter a 9x13-inch casserole dish. I understand that he is making a mainstream cookbook but I would have liked a few more cast iron recipes. He does include chipotle peppers, green chilies, jalapenos in practically every recipe but I look at those as optional not required. I like spicy but most of the members of my family don't so I don't usually include them and the food is just as good. Overall one of my favorite cookbooks, in fact I'm making one of his recipes tonight. I'd love to see him do a Grilling book because I think he'd have some great steak, chicken and grilled vegetable ideas.

Cowboy Kent’s recipes make me feel like my Mum’s still alive
I have to say, as an Australian girl it sounds crazy to say these recipes remind me of my Mumma. But it’s something about the way they are simple, not fussy, turn out great every time and you don’t really need to fuss on a cup measure, you can eyeball these recipes and they turn out great. That’s how my Mum used to cook! The chicken fried steak is a fire cracker! My husband absolutely loves it. While some of the spices mentioned in the recipes we can’t get in Australia, I was able to look up online how to make them myself from scratch. It’s all pretty simple and easy to substitute for. Worth the investment. Great book! Thanks Kent, Shannon and the Beags from your Aussie fans.

Excellent informative Book, well worth a read.
Had been watching Kent on "YouTube" for a while, so brought this used from a company in the US. The book arrived well packaged and well within the timescale stated, although stated as "used" this book was like new. Very pleased excellent service. The recipes are very interesting, but you would need to convert as measurements are in cups and sticks of butter. But this is easy to do. Have tried some of the recipes and they have come out well, although he uses cast iron cook pans you don't have to. All in all very interesting book well worth a read.
