They come in a nice sturdy case that looks kind of James Bondish and the microphones are neatly arranged in semi rigid cutout foam. All the microphones worked, and recorded the drums really well, at least according to my novice and sort of untrained ears. I'm sure some really advanced sound engineer may disagree with me, but I thought they had really great sound. The price was and is so affordable that it allows small time bands like mine the ability to get a pretty solid drum track recorded for demos and records. I have no real complaints at all. I have read some places that the plastic clips that are used to hook the tom mics up to the drums are fragile and will crack. I found that these types of clips are plenty strong, they just limit the places you can hook them onto your kit because of the way they pop on. Again, for my uses, this potential drawback was not even a problem since there is plenty of spots to hook them as they are. The kit is lightweight which helps when we use them to play larger venues and have to mic our drums, and we haul our own gear. Yep, we have NO roadies. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because of the limitations that the clips create, but they do not outweigh the low price and the fact that you get 7 mics in this kit.
